1. The Speaker shall be charged with calling, ending and declaring the results of votes, maintaining the Senate Roster, and ensuring that the Senate functions properly as enumerated herein and that the laws and Constitution of Taijitu are up to date.

I am ensuring it functions properly.  :-P

B9, if you would like to complain and argue over whether The Speaker is allowed to make a list of eligible candidates, knock yourself out, but plz take it to a senate discussion specifically on the topic, make a proposal, and have a vote.  Until then, I will maintain a list of candidates that I deem eligible for the election.  If brand new non-posting regional members get nominated, they will not make the list.  If someone with a lapse in citizenship gets nominated, I have the same duty to determine eligibilty.

Please keep this thread on topic from here on out.

Yes there was a lapse in citizenship, but I currently fulfill the requirements you posted, so what's the problem?

I'm not complaining and arguing Meri. I asked for clarification- that's all, and it happened to be clarification regarding the nominations, so it was pretty on topic as far as I'm concerned.

Osa, you didn't have any nation in the region for close to three weeks. Your current nation has only been here 46 days, half the time required for eligible candidacy.  According to the letter of the constitution, you're inelegible.  I'm still waiting for word from Prag on that specific thing.

If you check Prag's previous post as well as the senate chambers, you'll see that Pragmia has given me clearance to run.

So, let's get on with it. I accept the nomination and I nominate Greater Canadian Empire to run with me as the Vice Delegate.

(You need to be a Senator to nominate someone? That ranks up there on my "The most bullshit things I've ever heard" list.)

Osa, how long did it take you to notice when your nation ceased-to-exist?

Yeah it sucks, but it isn't anything new.

Well from what I remember, I moved Osafune into Taijitu as soon as I moved Collosea into the Empire of Great Britain Reborn. That was sometime at the end of November/early December. To be honest, I don't think I logged on at all after that until I noticed it CTE'd. I moved Great Britain Reborn into Taijitu as soon as I found that out. That was 20 days ago, I believe. But I've had a nation in Taijitu for well over 90 days, and thus citizenship as well, you can be sure of that (counting the time before that nation CTE'd).

I'd like to point out that due to the nature of time-space, having once been a Senator, I am always a Senator. Absolute potentialism for the win.

I fully intended to decline my nomination again, but I was convinced otherwise at the last minute and have decided to accept.  I hereby request that the handsome and talented Korinn be my Vice Delegate/running mate.

While I appreciate being nominated for Delegate, I am going to decline. I will however run as the very beautiful Al's Vice-Delegate. :wb:
