damn these wannabe communists, they wouldn't know proper socialism if it bit them in the ass.

OOC: my nation is not communist it is socialist which is a transitional phase before the stateless communism is developed, the modifications I have made to my state in relation to traditional socialism are so that it can last the long haul in competition with capitalist states.

IC: "My nation doesn't have tariffs believing in free trade, however we do have strict laws about exploitation and we refuse to trade with companies that do not recognize real unions"

"Good to hear," Jackson said. "The Mercantilist States is the same way."

"We would be interested in establishing a distribution hub here," Adams said again. "If your state-employee arrangement doesn't work with foreign companies, then we can import our own labor force to run the hub. The same would go for any potential tobacco and sea farms."

That's a bold offer, Defensor thought to himself. The cost alone of importing and paying Mercantilians to run the hub and farms would probably negate any profits that could be had. Especially from a nation that doesn't even allow tobacco, his staple product. Had Adams run some numbers before he came...

"As long as the workers have 50% collective ownership of the enterprise it is legal.  Tobacco is illegal in our nation to grow, own or consume, though if it were profitable enough an exception could be made.  Tananga weed growing interests within our nation will be able to supply your needs."

OOC: Its a working form of socialism (which is governance of the state by the workers for the benefit of the workers) which is a transitional state until the state may be done away with and communism reached.

"The Empire of Kalvskar leaves most of the labour rights to the freedom of contract between employer and employee", Ferika said in a soft voice, "But our firms tend to create satellite companies in foreign states in order to follow their laws, so we could establish branches in Llanydern following your type of contract".

As she spoke, the ambassador noticed something unusual in the young policewoman-like dressed girl beside Evoleerf : she had an eyepatch! The default Kalvskarian policy in international relations was to avoid... politically incorrect issues, like organ trade and consumption. However, that woman looked like many Kalvskarians who had sold one of their eyes for a large amount of runes, despite the fact that she had not found anything in the Internet or the government databases about an organ market in Llanydern. She took a mental note to investigate further on that; she could have found a potential customer (or provider) for the organ market.

"However", she continued her speech, "we do not require labour importation. Our branches will recruit people and outsource without nationality discrimination... unless forbidden, of course. Do you have any restrictions on workers or outsourcing from other states of Taijitu? Does the 50% collective ownership apply to outsourcing?".

Although it was contrary to the interests of the Kalvskarian government to loose working population, it was allowed, and in fact it was an income source. And outsourcing could be very interesting.

Is this guy for real, Wallis thought to himself referring to Evoleerf. He was struggling to control himself. He looked over at Adams who was busy scribbling away on his notepad.

"Ok...I have a proposal," Adams said as he finished writing and looked up. "We in the Mercantilist States have never heard of such a system, and wouldn't know where to begin. However, your government seems to adept at running it, thus...

"We will allow your government to appoint a representative to our Board of Directors and your nation will be given control over 50% of our interests within your nation. Consequently, you will be entitled to a share of our total annual profits equal to whatever percentage that makes up of our total assets. You will also have voting power on our Board of Directors.

"Said representative will be responsible, or responsible for appointing, someone to manage the assets of the Mercantilist Brewing Company in Llanydern, and will be based out of Aberystwyth. We will hire only domestic labor, and said representative can ensure that the 50% ownership, through shares or otherwise, is distributed equally to all workers who are hired. Additionally, we will rely on said representative to ensure the supply of Tanaga Weed, of which we will set the price based on worldwide supply and demand.

"However, we also reserve the right to sever this arrangement if it proves to be unprofitable."

Wallis, Defensor, and Jackson all looked at Adams speechless. Wallis, for one, had never heard of such an arrangement ever being attempted.

"As far as tobacco," Adams continued. "We can wait and see how this arrangement works out, and your government can decide from there whether or not to grant us an exception."

While a dazzling amount of oddities these foreigners have regarding trade...

"We of the DCL wish to acquire a long term contract for your country to supply us with small arms. The Loyalist Army is in dire need of assault rifles, machine guns and pistols to arm our military personnel.

Our industries are also looking to receive help from Llanydern. We wish to acquire simple propeller aircraft manufacturing data and machinery. We would like to create a student exchange program where our graduates can study in your universities to gain more knowledge of your superior technologies.

We would also like to introduce a draft for a military cooperation treaty that would strengthen both our border."

The Ceo Smiled "Nerdic has so far had a very fair trade with your nation, we have imported many thousand tons of food into and out of your nation by our partnership. We find that our agreements with your nations have so far been of the best possible, we hire your locals and rent out your docks and then sell our foods to your markets and our concern keeps turning its vast mechanics. I wish to once again state that if you ever wish something from us the agent in your nation will do all we can to make you happy."

He turned a smile on his face to the Reps from the M. States "Our Dealings with you have been of great profit, and remember you have full access to our vast transport system."

with this he turns to the local leaders "A transport system that includes a proposed partnership with my Corporation and your government to build a rail cutting across your fine nation."

ooc: so im guessing nerdic doesn't import its large selection of narcotics into your nation, Salvia isn't even illegal in the USA, but that wont last that much longer.

I would like to propose the contsruction a railway system connecting Saletsia, Llanydern and the Chines Loyalist State. I believe this would make easier the transportation of trading goods as well as other transportation between our nations.

Highest regards to you and yours,
President Barga

Richard sat smoking and glaring at everyone. this is pointless, well at least i have a chance to speak with the mercintalists. he started taking his gun apart to clean it. note to self, tell the prime minister Llanydern is a pitiful and useless place. he then gave a smile the the DCL representative a toothy smile.

The foreigner man was smiling at him. Gen smiles back. "That guy looks pretty friendly", he thought.

Ferika noticed the exchange of smiles. Complicity? A hint on an underlying alliance? She could not tell, but watching Richard cleaning his gun was a really bad omen. If I knew weapons were allowed here, I would have brought a pair of tough bodyguards, she thought, aware of her lack of defence, I don't even know if my mobile phone works here, she wondered, taking her terminal from a pocket in her light blue tunic and checking the screen for signal.

OOC: Jackson is leaving the conference to deal with the Ginto Dispute.

William Jackson felt his blackberry buzz and looked at it, it was a message from President Washington:

Need you in Vusun. AW

Jackson whispered something to Secretary Wallis and then quietly excused himself from the conference.

OOC2: since it seem Llanydern has gone MIA, you guys want to continue this at the banquet, or even at the end of the conference. I want to do some informal shit with Black to spring into another RP, and talk to Larigou.
