Myroria for Citizen-Delegate
« on: March 14, 2015, 04:57:51 AM »
Hello!

My name is Myroria, and I would like to be the next Citizen-Delegate of Taijitu. I'll try not to waste any of your time and keep this short.

I'm interested in running for Citizen-Delegate because I would like to use my position to increase activity on the NationStates regional page and direct more people to the forums. I, with the help of the Citizen-Liaison(s) I appoint, would like to drum up activity through structured programs much like other regions have - including occasional weekly events or "theme weeks". In addition, I would like to ask the Ecclesia to pass legislation creating a program designed to increase participation in the World Assembly. The North Pacific has something like this, and it has been very successful. The advantages of a World Assembly program like this include increased regional influence, a higher endocount for the delegate, and hopefully allowing newer nations to raise their own influence so that it's not all in the hands of Grand Miltonia and Graofan.

I would also like to use my experience in foreign affairs to, with the help of the Citizen-Diplomat(s) I appoint, forge new alliances and strengthen our existing ones. As Citizen-Diplomat, I created Taijitu's first ambassador corps in two or three years, worked on treaties with The North Pacific and the East Pacific (despite their sluggish attitude ;)), and wrote monthly updates to go out to our friends and allies elsewhere.

I hate to boast about myself, but I consider myself a good administrator in the political sense, and would like to use this skill to turn the delegacy into a well-oiled machine - maintained by myself but run by the Ecclesia.

Other regions will always consider Taijitu's Citizen-Delegate to be the head of state, no matter how much I may like them to consider our legislature to hold that position. I make a pledge to stay entirely within the mandate given to me by the people of Taijitu, and to not overstep my bounds - to overstep those bounds would be to dishonor the Glorious Revolution we all work so hard to protect. Every plan or program I plan to start will only begin with the explicit consent of the Ecclesia - by the people of Taijitu.

If my plans for this office sound appealing to you, and you would like to help me make them a reality, please vote for me in the Tonneral elections. Vive le Taijitu! Vive le Révolution Glorieuse!

I have two pieces of swag if anyone is interested in them. I'd rather not make a garish campaign badge or sticker, so instead I have two pieces of BBCode you can put in your signature to indicate your support for my campaign, if you'd like. The first links to this thread and the second links to my campaign song. Thank you!
