ATTACK BY UFA LEAVES TWO-HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX DEAD

Today, in Capconia City, the Unlimited Freedom Alliance (UFA,) openly claimed responsibility for their role in a gas attack on Capconia Central Railway Station that left approximately two-hundred and thirty-six people dead, and countless more suffering from problems related to the gassing.  The gas has been determined to be Axlon-2, a toxic chemical that was originally developed for military usage, but after protests from the general public and issues voiced by the Health Ministry, it was declared banned under the Capconian Military Treaty, which bans the use of weapons that could cause massive deaths as well as pose a threat to civilian life.

The UFA is a group which has claimed that the Capconian government is blatantly lying about being a free state, and has been known to appear at random times to protest, and while they have inflicted damage to civilian property before, this is the first known instance of them deliberately launching an attack against civilians with the intent of killing them.  They claim that they are merely exercising their right to free expression of their views.

Defense Minister Xymon Mecondier has issued this statement, "The Capconian government has taken this threat very seriously in the past, and we admit that we let our guard down.  We assure the people that we will see to it that stricter measures are taken to protect against attacks like this in the future.  The entire nation's Ministries of Law have been alerted, and as a result the police presence in public is being stepped up.  In addition, the military will be ready for deployment if the need should arise.

"That does not mean, however, that the public should panic.  This is merely a precaution.  We want everyone to know that our freedom will not be sabotaged.  We will still allow everyone to enjoy their lives however they wish."

Today, Tyona Crander, Diplomatic Minister of Capconia, officially announced the opening of the Capconian Diplomatic Complex, a special complex which provides space for twenty-four embassies, along with housing for emissaries and their family.  In addition, Diplomatic Minister Crander also announced the official welcoming of their first two nations into their complex.

The People's Republic of Loyan was one of the first countries to apply for an embassy, followed by the nation of Bohemia.  Both of these nations were granted permission immediately, and in return, emissaries from Capconia were sent to the nations in return.  Already, Capconia is seeking more members to join.

"We are a Free Land," Crander stated in her speech regarding the opening, "And that means that we welcome all other nations, provided they have no intent of hostility in any way, shape, or form.  We will gladly work with our allies however we can, and we look to spread this alliance to other nations."

BREAKING NEWS: ILLEGAL WEAPONS BEING UTILIZED BY UFA

At 2:45 PM Capconian Standard Time, Defense Minister Xymon Mecondier issued an official report in regards to the terroristic attack on the Capconia Central Railway Station that left over two-hundred people dead.  The report comes after an investigation into the type of gas that was used in the attack in order to confirm what chemicals were used in that attack.  We go now live to Defense Minister Mecondier right now:

"We have officially determined that the chemicals utilized in the attack on the Central Railway Station are considered illegal under the NBC Non-Proliferation Treaty.  Since our land has officially cleared out each of the chemicals that could possibly be used to manufacture such types of weapons, we have reason to believe that there may be an outside organization that is supplying the Unlimited Freedom Alliance with these chemicals.  We are continuing to investigate this.  For the time being, we wish to reassure all of our people that their safety is still of our utmost concern, and we will do everything we can to keep you safe."

Defense Minister Mecondier declined to identify what specifically the chemicals were, but when more information is available, we will let you know.  Stay with the Capconian National News Corporation for continued coverage.
