Complaint and Indictment for Treason
« on: December 05, 2013, 06:58:06 PM »
First I just want to say, I hate you all.

Secondly, I demand to be convicted of treason, for impersonating Oz's cat in an attempt to take the delegacy.

Thirdly, in the absence of any judiciary that cares about this game anymore, I indict myself of said crime on their behalf.

The most stupid thing is that this complaint will be IGNORED by the system because everybody would rather bitch about it behind my back than actually have an open trial.

First, legalities:

I believe this is the topic for criminal complaints, and I don't think the Due Process Act permits you to file charges as you are not in the Ministries of Justice or of Regional Security.

Also, if you are accusing yourself of attempting to illegally seize the Delegacy by impersonation, I will note that the correct charges would be to charge with Conspiracy (Section 3) to seize the in-game Delegacy while not serving as Delegate (Section 2 paragraph 3d), and of impersonating a government official (Section 3 paragraph 3b).

More importantly:

Of course, I refuse to believe that any sane court would agree that Oz's cat was a government official. Oz's cat is not a person and was not on the ballot as Lieutenant Delegate. Given the circumstances in the last few months, I'm also not sure that it makes sense to prosecute attempting to take the Delegacy by impersonating his absent Lieutenant Delegate when there was, unconstitutionally, no Lieutenant Delegate.

Really, I don't think there's reason to believe you intended harm to Taijitu, and the situation was pretty rough. I'd much rather move on and close that chapter.

I have absolutely no idea what's happening here. I get the sense there's a back story here that I wasn't around for.

Although Lapeirousia's post is a bit dramatic/fatalist, it shows, again, how much some people can "ruin the game" for others. Maybe it's time our penal code would be more inclusive towards ostracization / discrimination. I've complained several times before, towards myself but a lot towards others as well. Prejudice sometimes is horrible and not everyone needs to have the stomach to endure the crap that is said sometimes, even if you're just joking around, even if you're not being serious, most of it sounds like ostracism.

Are you saying that ostracism should be a crime, or that we should punish crimes through ostracism?

In a liberal society, the law is there to protect its subjects.

I seek protection from the law, from prejudice and ostracism.

If I happen to be guilty of a crime, so be it.  I'm not willing to be punished for things I may not have even done, which I am continuing to be punished for.

And if you are not willing to confront the issue, I will make a fuss until I'm banned from the forum and the region.

Oz did name his cat as LD, and that is a reasonable stretch of the law, even if not technically valid, I took it to be fact, and acted on that.  The technicality should not be exculpatory.

I have the right to a trial.  I'm being excluded from Taijituan social circles based on hearsay.  If you can't stand me, just ban me.  We might as well act out the legal system, it's why we have one.

not sure which Delfos is saying, but my answer to that would be, we should punish crimes through the legally defined methods.  Either adopt ostracism as one of the methods, or, otherwise, ostracism itself should be a crime.

Lapeirousia, it may interest you that this Court's powers are not limited to trying criminal cases. It also can try civil cases, and is the designated arbiter for disputes. Perhaps this topic may be of interest to you.

Paranoia is not a crime last time I checked.  Maybe you should legislate for it.
