Acadian Civil War
« on: December 28, 2007, 03:00:05 AM »
The soldiers marched peacefully through the streets of Saintonge City, the provincial capital of Saintonge province. The soldiers had no reason to fear the people as they walked by. Some even smiled. Ever since the Dysaniian Republic fell to the combined might of the Canadian and Coalition armies, the Acadian provinces were occupied by the Canadian Army. The Occupational Government in the north was trying to hold the area together. It had been a year since the end of the war and the Canadians and Acadians had learned to live together. At least that is what Private Francis Phillipe thought. He was sitting on a bench with a few other soldiers. Their blue battle uniforms were faded. Their weapons were at their feet as they smoked and laughed.

"So John, what are you going to do when we get back to base?" asked Francis.

Corporal Johnathon Andropov blew a puff of his cigarette. "I'm going to meet that girl, what's her name? Joesphine. That's it."

Francis laughed. "Damn, how many girls do you got wrapped around your finger?"

John put up four fingers. "Three here and then the wife back in Saskatoon." He laughed. As the two soldiers were laughing, they didn't see the man climb up onto a rooftop across the street from them. He moved with as much stealth as he could. He pulled out a hunting rifle with a scope on it. The man lowered the rifle as he loaded it. Then he took aim at the two soldiers across the street. He took aim at the man on the left. The rifle kicked as he pulled the trigger. The soldier's head exploded. The second soldier just looked at his comrade stunned. The man then fired two shots into the second soldier. With those two shots, the insurgency began. All over Saintonge City, the insurgents were firing upon Canadian soldiers. The Canadians were ready for many of the attacks as the fights continued. But the Canadian soldiers were soon broken up into many small isolated pockets with the insugents surrounding them. But within ten minutes of the fighting, the Governor-Militant in Port-Royal was aware of the attacks and began to mobilize. All over the city of Saintonge, the Canadian flags were brought down and were replaced with red flags. The battle for Saintonge was about to begin.

Red Uprising (Stand-Alone RP Only)

Sver since the Acadian city of Saintonge rose up in revolution, the Governor-Militant of Acadia, Field Marshal Currie mustered a force to retake the city from the communist uprising. He stood in front of the camera as it aired a message to all over Acadia. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a serious matter that needs to be taken care of. As of 1300 yesterday, the city of Saintonge rose up in revolution. We fear that this rebellious fevor will spread and soon cause civil war in Acadia. We will however, stop this fevor like a cold. We will act as the immune system and attack it. We will have victory. As we speak, 300 Canadian soldiers and Acadian police officers are now caught in pockets of the city fighting to survive. I have ordered that the 1st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division, and the 3rd Airborne Regiment of the 2nd Airborne Division be sent down to retake the city and rescue those caught behind enemy lines. We will see this through and defend the enemies of Acadia, external or internal." As he spoke this, his orders were being carried out. The planes taking the paratroopers to Saintonge were getting readyy to meet the ground troops there. Hind helicopters flew south to join the 1st. The ground troops would take two days to reach Saintonge, so Currie knew that the Canadian and loyalist forces caught behind the enemy lines would need to buckle down and hold off the enemy until the relief force arrives.

Lieutenant Hamlen looked out the window of what used to be a convenience store. His rifle at the ready. The two story building was being ocupied by only thirty Canadian and loyalist soldiers and policemen. Lieutenant looked out and suddenly the crackle of gunfire forced his head back in. "Open fire!" The soldiers and policemen opened up on the revolutionaries. They made sure they picked out their targets carefully. They were running low on ammo. Hamlen jumped up and opened up on a revolutionary trying to the get into the store. The revolutionary stopped shooting. Most likely trying to find a way to enter this place. Hamlen could hear shouting all over the city. The other soldiers were holding back the Reds. They knew that they were only holding off the Reds. The radios were sending in daily reports. Hamlen walked down to the store and looked at his exhausted troops. He smiled. They had been fighting the insurgents for two days. All they needed is hope. One of the loyalists looked up. "What's that sound?"

The other soldiers listened and could hear the sound too. Hamlen smiled. "It's a helicopter...no, more helicopters. Planes, too."

The 1st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment moved down the road. Colonel Micheal Taylor was in his command APC as the other APCs, IFVs, and tanks moved down to Saintonge. He gave out orders. "Alright, I want all companies to prepare to enter the city the moment that the Hinds and gunships give us cover fire. Our first objectives are to rescue the soldiers behind enemy lines. After that, we will be reinforced with paratroopers. The our new objective will be retaking the city. Understood?" He recieved acknowledgments on the radio.

Day Three of the Civil War

Governor-Militant Currie looked over the reports. Saintonge was slowly falling to the Canadian Army, but the hope of containing the rebels wasn't working. Four more cities in Southern Acadia had fallen to a Farmer and Worker's Liberation Army. Riots had started in some villages and cities in the north, but the police had so far been able to quell the riots. More Canadian soldiers were heading south to push the rebels to the sea. Currie, though he didn't want to, was asked by the Regency to send in the Acadian Defense Force in to reinforce the already thin Canadian lines. The newspapers weren't being kind to the Canadians. They were calling this an escalating civil war that was engineered by the government to keep the Canadian influence there. Currie looked over the reports of losses. So far only twenty-three soldiers were killed in the fighting, along with a hundred loyalist soldiers. he put down the reports and called the General Staff in Ottawa.

"Hello....This is Governor-Militant Arthur Currie, I want to speak with Marshal Worthington....Thank you......Frank, this is Arthur...I would like to say things are fine, but they aren't....We have a full-blown rebellion in Southern Acadia...I need some more soldiers to put down the rebellion...Yes, if we can put down the core of the rebel forces, then the Acadians can deal with the rest....Alright, thank you, Frank."

Day Seven of the Civil War

Sam von Hessian was walking down the streets of Port Royal, his cane in one hand and his wife, Maggie in the other. They looked around at some of the buildings. Many had propaganda posters condemning the rebel forces in the south and asking for the assistance of the Acadian loyalist forces. Maggie squeezed her husband's hand. "What has this come too. Only a few months ago, we became an independent country, now..this. More war. What will happen now, Sam?"

He looked at her. "The government in Ottawa has responded in the way that it should. Now the Regency Council in Port Royal will have to decide whether or not the Acadian Army will assistance the Canadian Army. The rebels need to be stopped." Maggie looked at her husband and nodded. But before they could continue their talk, a loud horn was sounded. They turned and saw hundreds of soldiers dressed in white and light blue uniforms of Canadian cut. Pot-shaped helmets protected their heads. They carried Canadian Berettas with the bayonets fixed as well as other small arms. As the infantry marched past, Leopard 1s, SK-105 Ocelot light tanks, other armor and field artillery were driven by in formation. Sam looked on. "I guess the Regency Council has decided to fight this civil war." Maggie looked in disbelief. The Kingdom of Acadia was finally going to fight it's war.

New Bael

The men were gathering in a small bunker under the city hall. It was at first a bomb shelter when the Canadians were crossing the borders last year. But now it was the HQ of the rebel forces. The three most powerful rebel armies were meeting together. Chairman Phillip Nassar of the Saintonge Democratic Republic, General Ivan Achev of the Federal Army, and General George Santiago of the Nationalist Revolutionary Army were meeting in the bunker to discuss something of importance. Achev stood up. He was an experienced general of the Federal Army and was dressed in his green Federal uniform. The other two men wore their own respective uniforms. General Sanitiago wore an old-style uniform from the previous era, while General Nassar wore a regular blue coat with jeans. A red band on his arm gave him away as a member of the Democratic Republic.

"Gentlemen, I have brought you here to discuss the war. We do not have the stregth to challenge the Monarchists on open ground separated. So I propose that since we are rebelling to overthrow the puppet government set up by the Canadian military, we band together into an alliance to beat them back. I propose a Confederate Acadia."

Chairman Nassar replied quickly. "What of our independence? The workers and farmers of Acadia are fighting to destroy the oppresive capitalist pigs. Allying myself to your cause will contradict my position."

Sanitiago also added his two cents. "The Nationalist Revolutionary Army also agrees with my communist counterpart. What will happen after the war. We will then have to turn on each other in order to complete our goals."

Achev smiled. "Do you think that when we are done with the Canadians and their Acadian puppets? No, we are not done. I plan to start launching attacks against the Republic of Valhene, the Aemillion Free State and the foriegners occupying the rest of Dysanii. We should be working together instead of conspiring behind each other's backs. So are we in agreement." The other two men nodded. "Alright then, we will fight now as Confederate Acadia. We now need to coordinate our attacks.....

Meanwhile in a remote area of selid

The land rover bounced along the track kicking up clouds of dust into the cold dry air, it came to a halt the dust sweeping over it coating the men waiting for it in a fine layer of the gritty residue.  From the car stepped a man, a large man with an eye patch obviously unused to the civilian clothing he was wearing marking him as a soldier, however he was also old and required a stick to walk properly.  He turned and spoke to a man in a dark uniform devoid of insignia or rank markings "How goes the training? Are the men well motivated?",
"The training goes well the first brigade should be ready by the end of the week, the second in a month and the third a few weeks after that" replied the slightly sinister officer, "morale could be higher but remember these are mercenaries and are here for money rather then any ideological reason"
The old man smiled "Good then at the end of the week the first Brigade shall go to arcadia, remember though that if word of this leaks out your head shall be in a somewhat awkward position" and with that he turned and entered the land rover, as it drove away he could see the armored vehicles of the brigade being maintained, he smiled as his plans slowly came to fruition.....

The 34th Special Forces Group, better known by there nickname, "Wardogs", loaded aboard the transport planes, bound for Acadia. The Men were veterans, not rookies. Barakarin had sent them to Acadia to help the Canadians after they saw that they were no longer fit for trench Warfare. They had proved to be experts in Raiding, something not seen on the Barakarin front. There M-16s where in there hands, and they were gearing up the entire way there. Before, some men switched out there M-16s for other weapons, such as Shotguns, or a Sub-Machine Gun.  Soon, after a couple hours of flying, they arrived at Acadias coast. They had landed at the town of Breton. There Commander, stepped off the plane first, and went off to meet the commander, to see where they where needed. The Soldiers waited on the Tarmac. They were here, and they were going to fight. No matter what.

Lieutenant-General Marcus Sander straightened his camo-uniform. Like all Acadians, he was dressed in fashion in that of the Canadian Army. A camo-trench coat, with a pot helmet. He walked up to meet the Kailizerc SpecOps that had recently arrived. He shook the hands with their commander. "I am Lieutenant-General Marcus Sander. We are in desperate need of your forces. We currently are at a stalemate, but we need to break it and be able to move north. But first, there are things that need to be done. The first is this." Marcus took out a photograph. "This is a picture of a large supply depot. There is ammunition and weapons in there. We need you to sneak behind enemy lines and blow it up. The supply depot feeds the entire army we are currently fighting here on the coast. it's heavily defended, so secrecy and stealth will need to be done. Understood?"

The Commander nodded, and put a stick of gum inside his mouth.

"We can do that. Expect blown up within 2 weeks."

The Commander looked at the photo. From what he could see, there was 4 guard towers, and some foxholes. He set it back on the table, and walked out the door.

"Names Elias, by the way."

Elias montined for some scouts, who where going to move ahead of the main force. The rest of the group sat for a few hours, then moved out. They had to blow up a ammo dump, and by god. they were going to do it.

Welcome to the 10 O’clock news from the International Church News Service, I’m Jane O’Dinnall.

Now to our main story; the Prime Minister of Templarios, Dr Robert Pawson and Arch-Bishop Right Rev’d Herald V, the head of the Church of Templarios have just released a combined statement. Just to remind our views, the Church of Templarios is both the main church of Templarios and an international church that over a billion people worship at, follow and call their home church in nearly every country in Taijitu.

Here is the statement:
Quote
On behalf of both the Government of Templarios and the Church of Templarios, both for the international and national church, condemn the appalling loss of both military and especially civilian life in current civil war going on in the Greater Canadian Empire. We also strongly denounce the loss of homes and the food supply to the civilian population affect by the current hostilities.

Following on from this, we both give our support to setting up an interim aid program for the civilian population of the affected area. We are giving a starting total of $25,000,000 with a new bank account in aid along with medical supplies and logistical support that will be entering the affect zone in 5 days time. Military protection will be given by member of the Templarios Defence Force under the banner of international aid program. We expect all groups involved in this situation to honour this aid program. The defence force will not fire unless fired upon in defence of the aid workers or themselves. In addition, when any civilian personal on an aid base, they will be protected as given to these people as given to any aid personnel.

We also encourage other nations and organisations to support this aid program in their prays, thoughts, money and aid.

Thank you and God Bless,
Arch-Bishop Right Rev’d Herald V
Dr Robert Pawson

We will have reactions to this statement soon as we hear.

*pause*

On to our other stories, a study has been just released that strongly criticises the quality of incense used in some liberal churches…

Day Nine of the Civil War

The Battle of Saintonge has finally been won. Colonel Taylor was finally able to force the confederates back. The confederates didn't have a large amount of armor, and no artillery at all. So the Canadians used a blitzkrieg to continue to force them back. Colonel Taylor read over reports. The coast has continued to be at a stalemate, but they will soon breakthrough. As for the northern army, they were falling back to their confederate friends to the south. Colonel Taylor also saw on maps, the locations of all the paratrooper regiments dropped behind enemy lines. They destroyed depots and other fortifications. The confederates were putting up a good fight, but the larger and faster Canadian/Acadian armies were beating them. Colonel Taylor had also heard from Port Royal that the conference that had been going on for over two years may finally come to a conclusion. The Acadian Parliament has agreed to join any Dysaniian government for so as long as they are able to retain their monarchy. Till now, the Canadian and Acadian armies will help keep order until the conference ends. Taylor saw prisoners that they found in a small town called Bael. Some were the leaders of the confederates. "Good thing we got them. They will hurt everthing we are trying to do. Well, like the Marshal said, from chaos comes order. Well, we are here to keep order and end the chaos."

The Small group of Wardogs looked over the rocks. The Depot was right there. It was within Rifle Range. The radio man got on the radio and began talking.

"Scout Unit 1 to Main Force. We see them. Asking permission to Engage"

"Use your judgement. Attack when ready"

"Yes sir"

The Small group began to aim there rifles. At the machine gun posts. There were probably more guards, but they were going to take out the machine guns first. They dialed in, and fired. All hell broke loose. RPGS flew through the air. The group fell back, and the main force showed up.

"Damn it, were not trained for this!"

"Who Cares?! Forward!"

The Wardogs sprinted into the flied,  Firring there weapons. They quickly reached the barricades, and swarmed over them. They killed them all ,and set demo charges, and ran out. While they were leaving, the depot blew up behind them. they were done. They poped some smoke and waited for the helos.

The battle was over very quick. The depot has been still in construction (although there was already enough ammunition in it to get a fairly large explosion), and the men guarding it were fresh recruits right from the military academy.

Slowly, the heavily wounded Private named Avery crouched away from the battlefield. Maybe he was the sole survivor; he did not know. What he also did not know was if he has seen right. The attackers were easily identified as Canadians. He took a short break to catch some breath, then he took the medic kit he took from one of his fallen comrades during his escape, and opened it. Carefully, he pulled up the sleeves of his shirt on the left side, and shortly after that, he did the same with the sleeve of his trousers, too on the left side. Then, he took out the bottle of antiseptics from the kit, treated his wounds, and then carefully applied the bandages. During his drilling time, he had learned what to do in such situations; however, the pain was nearly unbearable. After he stopped the bleedings, he continued, half standing, half crouching, moving into the direction were the next road should be; he hoped that he would reach the base before sunset.

Edit: Do rebels attend to military academies and hold easily detectable ammo depots?

ooc: No he is not. He is playing the Feniexians. The attack on the depot was an accident. I'm going to end this so me and Feniexia can do our RP.

The coastal battles were now going in the Canadian and Acadian favor. The armies in the south wer now slowly pushing the rebels back. The southern and northern armies were sandwiching the rebels between them. Lieutenant-General Sander of the First Acadian Army was using a Canadian amored assault against the rebels. The rebels' few M-1s launched a last ditch attack on the Canadian and Acadian forces. But the Canadian Tiger 1s ripped through the rebels without any losses. With Tiger, Leopard, Ocelot tanks as well as infantry battalions closing in around the rebels, the last members of the rebel resistance and leadership huing up the white flag and surrendered. Thee rebels handed over their weapons and were marched off to prisoner camps where they would wait to stand trial by an Acadian court. Then if found guilty, they would hang. Sander was awarded the rank of Marshal of the Armies of the Kingdom of Acadia; the highest rank in the Acadian Army.
