Just when the guests began to believe no more guests would be arriving, a sleek white car drove up in front of the palace. The driver of the car, a slight man with a thin, expressionless face, in a gray uniform, stepped out and opened the rear driver-side door. A tall, somewhat broad-shouldered man with a strong jaw, deep blue eyes, and a healthy fireball of red hair stepped out in a simple black and white tuxedo. His features were strong yet smooth, though dominated by a considerable intensity. Nevertheless, he smiled at the chauffeur who then, with the same dispassionate expression, turned and returned to the driver's seat of the car. He turned and ascended the stairs, one hand in the pocket of his trousers, the other swinging by his side. Magorion IV of House Klausovich, Foreign Advocate of the Federation of Rabarac, stopped thinking about the meeting with Kathrian officials he had come from and his face returned to his confident yet charming 'official' face, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He looked up at the throng of well-dressed and polished guests. He chuckled to himself at the nature of these sorts of meetings of the political elite; it reminded him of his children playing dress up before the war. That train of thought was not, however, leading to any good conversation topics, so he focused instead on the manners of dress of the other guests: Kathria had long held a policy of political isolation for it's colony for fear of foreign powers provoking revolutionaries, and thus cultural exchange was unheard of. The fact that the Kathrian government had approved of his being here was a dramatic departure in policy. It almost didn't happen; that was mostly your doing he congratulated himself. He recognized from his briefing the faces of Dux-Lucia and Dux-Imperatia Servia, and several other faces he had not committed to memory but had seen in other briefings.
