A Turnover of Power

Hostile Takeover... Nuclear Armaments Surface.

Regent Aelister Magreda

Under the authority of new elected Regent, offices in High Evermore were changed around. The entire council and capital was moved to Vellar Towne in the Sovereign Province of Vellar three weeks ago on Saturday, February 17, 2007. This lead to the formation of the "Regent Gaurde", the first non-conscript army defending the flag of High-Evermore, and by a staggering vote, The Church of High Evermore was banned from council, restricted to no more than 25 seats on the Evermorian National Parliament; furthermore, all high seats were moved from Denbourgh and Castello Esse to Vellar Towne. This started a small revolution within the ancient city of Castello Esse. Church leaders and officials banded together with the Terran Liberation Front, an anti-government libertarian front lead by Edvard Knauer, protesting Magreda and his policy. The Ministry of Defense, now under the command of Minister Joorgen Vellar, current head of the Vellar State, issued warning to all denizens of Castello Esse to evacuate, and urged all Terrans and Church officials to cease and desist on penalty of death.

On Friday, March 2, 2007, Regent Magreda, and Minister Vellar authorized the launch of atomic munitions. A tactical nuclear bomb was dropped from the HEA Phoenix at 10:35am on that Friday morning onto the Civic Center of Castello Esse, destroying eight square miles of the city, and damaging fifteen more. Casualty reports at the time are ranging from 10-20 thousand, but are estimated to go as high as 32 thousand, including Arch Bishop Harold Woerner, Bishop Heinrich Muusen, and the ex-Director of International Relations. The Magreda administration is not taking any questions on the issue at this time.

Downtown Castello Esse: Via Harmonia Boulevard, Cathedral District.

Upwards of 250 thousand refugees have been spotted leaving areas inside of Esse State, Denbourgh State, Jericoh State, and Crestaan State. Minister Tricia Taraneva of the Ministry of The Citizenry expects them to head for the Allied States "in hopes of a warm welcome from Bustos 21." Minister Ulma Koepler of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is rumored to be on her way to Bustos to discuss the issue. The only words we have gotten from anyone directly associate with the Regent is that any other citizen riots will be met with greater or equal force.

Finally, Any countries in the area of High Evermore are warned not to accept any person or persons claiming to be of Evermorian citizenship into their borders. Should anyone be found, please contact Minister Ulma Koepler, 3 Vellar Hwy, Vellar Towne, Vellar State (prv04458:15) - High Evermore or phone the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 556-07784-21.

Meanwhile, before the desk of Christopher Bustos....

Chairperson Bustos:

We apologize for the inconvenience we have brought upon your lands. We ask that you close your borders at this time to any Evermorian Citizen due to the state of our nation. We are currently moving forces from the Regent Gaurde to the Bustian border in order to stop further traffic past your border. Should you have any questions please contact me, Ulma Koepler, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

We do not bar people from entering or leaving our nation.  As that is our policy, any Evermorian wishing to enter will be allowed and the responsilbility of retaining your citizens rest entirely on your government's shoulders.  If they are stopped by your people inside your borders, that is your business.  However, any Evermorian that manages to enter into our nation will be allowed to remain.

The Chairperson and The Board urge restraint on further use of your nuclear weapons, especically denotation of such weapons so close to our borders.  Be aware that we are stepping up our military readiness in response to this careless use of a nuclear weapon.

The Allied States' military has been put on DEFCON TWO.

RE: Re: Refugees

We are upset to hear that you will not turnover our citizens, however we are understanding of your sentiments. There is a request we will have to make regarding a few key members of the "Terran Liberation Front." Our government has reason to believe that this group has relocated to Bustian soil after the attack on Castello Esse, and such members are wanted in our country for Treason, Murder 1, and Conspiracy. We hope that your judicial system will work with ours at this time, and we are willing to send detailed descriptions and pictures of the wanted Terran Party members; especially Edvard Knauer for an attempt on my life.

Evermorian Regent Gaurde units will be within a one mile of the Bustian border to stop flow of refugee's within the next two to three months. We again apologize for any "Careless" use of military force, but it needed to be done at this time. In further maintaining our relationship with your country, we offer you any facet of our governments power for the problems that have now migrated into your lap.

Warm Regards:

Regent Aelister Magreda
<Return to Ulma Koepler at this time>

Meanwhile in Jericoh state outside the Trade City of Nelbradis, A small convoy headed north-west toward the bustian border. In the front seat of one of the HEM Volksauto Truck, Edvard Knauer looked into the backseat, meeting eyes with a Bishop and none other than High Cardinal Sarah Woerner, Leader of the Evermorian Faith, and current Minister of Religious Affairs. Knauer looked the woman over and began to speak, "Once we hit foreign soil, I'll make sure both of your heads hang on pikes. I don't understand what this Regent thinks he's doing, but with you gone High Cardinal, The Terran's will finally have the responses we want."

In the back seat, the Bishop piped up, "Are you mad! Do you damned Terrans think you can pull this off? I don't even know ho-" The Bishop's sentence was cut off with a crack, and the High Cardinal shouted for help. The bishop slumped forward, blood on the window behind him.

"High Cardinal, I just don't think you understand the Predicament you are in... I don't think you are in the damn place be telling me or my men anything! If you keep your mouth shut, maybe you will make it to see Bustian soil." Knauer shouted as he turned back to whisper something to the driver in German. "Antriebs schneller. Ich sorge mich nicht, was geschieht, aber werde nicht gefangen bitte. Schießen Sie irgendjemand, der uns aufhält..."

Bustian military forces across the nation and waters, with reserves preparing to be called upon, are mobilizing.  Some forces are being deployed to the Bustian-Evermorian border.  Due to internal conflict inside High Evermore, border security is screening incoming refugees for militants and wanted men by the Evermorian government.  It will be easy to notice the 8th Allied Fleet positioning themselves nearby the Bustian-Evermorian border in terrestrial waters.

Corporations interested in finding workers have sent recruiters to border posts to recruit Evermorians to work for their companies.  Posters supporting joining the Bustian citizenship by military service are also posted everywhere at the border posts in hopes of recruiting Evermorians tired of their home nation.

From: Feng Hu, formerly of the Workers' Council of Gallipoli-China

I urge you extreme caution.  Do not expect any help or aid from the Bustian state or people.

On BNN, it has been revealed that one of their senior officers had a hand in killing the Supremo of Islas Filipinas and most of his family, whom they had been pledged to save.  Cynically, the Bustians then move into the territory of their former ally, and proclaim it their territory, thwarting the wishes of the Filipino people.  These actions they took against a nation that had been their utmost friend and ally.

They have shown you who they are; believe them.

It has been announced that they have put their military on its second-highest defense condition.  They have, however, pledged themselves not to use their military to prevent border crossings.  This can only mean one thing; they mean to invade your nation.  Do not trust their motives or their words, and above all, do not request "peace-keeping" aid.  Bear in mind that these are simply my suspicions, but history has a way of repeating itself, and I have no wish to see your proud nation go the way of Islas Filipinas.

I wish your nation and people its very best, and most especially its continued sovereignty,
Feng Hu

High Evermore,

We discourage your attempt to turn one of the last sanctuaries of the pinnacle of theologic politics, however, we will not intervene militarily as the Bustians may. Quite honestly, I view the Bustians as little more than assassins, attempting to spread their heathen and unpious ideology across this world with guerilla tactics and secret murder. The Bustians have already torn to shreds another fine, Catholic government and instilled their corporatocracy, their gangs, their ebonics (et cetera).

But I get ahead of myself. I suggest to you that you turn your strong arm toward the Bustians. Do not allow them to overthrow your government as they did the Filipino's.

Feng Hu:

We Evermorians have learned in time to trust none but ourselves. We are very well aware of Bustian politics, however, we believe that at this time, Relations with Bustos 21 must be kept at a friendly standpoint. We are well aware of the Bustian army and their advances in military force, however, we have no reason yet to expect an invasion, and our retaliation to such an action would be swift and deadly. We assure yourself, and the Gallipolean-Chinese government that we are against any war with any nation, nor do we wish to allow our citizens to become Bustian property. Thank you for your concern.

Warm Regards,
