The G-C flotilla had arrived too late to directly observe the explosion of the grenade, but the bodies of several men and women floated in the crimson water, some bumping unsettlingly at the sides of the ships as the boarding party prepared to board the fishing boat. They carried much of their damage control equipment; that fire had to be contained if they were to salvage anything off the scow.
While ten of the party ran towards the part of the ship where the fire smouldered, carrying fire extinguishers and water pumps that were connected to the ocean. The boat slowly came to a halt as the G-C found that the Valideens had already boarded.
"Hey!" one of them called, noticing the Valideens beginning to go down to the hold. "Wait for us!" They did, and there was much hand-shaking and back-slapping as the two parties went down the stairs to the hold. The G-C stood aside to let the Valideens open the last door to the hold. After all, it had been their ship that had sighted and first engaged this boat, which looked more and more rogue the more the G-C heard about it. Missiles on a fishing boat, enough to take on a military vessel, mass suicide at the threat of discovery, all that was extremely suspicious.
