Your last address...
« on: June 05, 2007, 12:33:53 AM »
If you could choose your last address, some other place, a better place to 'live for the rest of your life', in other words, the place you will die, What place would that be?

I ain't reveling mine yet, but it's what i call the Happiness Paradise. We love to live my last 20 years or more there.

Its not so much the last place i spend on Earth that concerns me, the fact that technically you are dying from the second you are born, and the only thing guaranteed in life (apart from taxes) is death. I would like to think that i will live long enough to spawn an offspring or two, and have a beautiful wife and move back to Ireland, I know if sounds corny... but is ever-increasingly un-likely with the current world.

Its all academic anyway how you leave this world is of no concern as to what happens in the next.

I plan to live forever, so I don't think this applies to me.

keep dreaming.

Hendrix that's what i mean, where will you settle your life until you die. Ireland is your answer?

Had a funny arguing about death long time ago. I claimed that the person couldn't know i was gonna die, not that i was immortal, but that we never know the future, so he couldn't guess i would die, can you? But anyway, dieing or not, even immortals choose where to live until their boring lives become too boring. Even if they cannot afford it, i said in 1st post, if you could choose, like bang! and you're there.

My gateway to 'paradise' is Cuba.

I suppose I would like to live out my life in a small stone house in the woods, full of bookshelves and cooking implements.  As long as it was a nice, dense deciduous forest at a low altitude, I think I would be more than pleased.

A little stream in the back wouldn't hurt, of course.

no, you want to get a cottage like that on the Breacon Beacons in Wales, Lake district is alright, but not as aesthetically pleasing as Breacon.

Both look lovely, Brecon especially, but neither area looks to be as heavily forested as I would prefer my dream home to reside in.

This is in Brecon and it looks absolutely marvelous, aside from not being quite as surrounded by trees as I would like.

aye thats a pretty nice shot, the hills around brecon are breathtaking, and it has its fair share of forests and woods though.

how about the devils punchbowl, its like someone took a giant ice cream scoop took a chunk out of england, and then filled it with trees.

i actualy quite agree, but adding on a garden and a grove. also it would definately need a large fireplace. but otherwise exactly!

^ Yes, definitely!  A small clearing or glade every now and again is almost inevitable in a large forest, and I agree that a cottage needs a garden.  Vegetables and flowers, huzzah!

^^ Ooh, that's pretty!  I'm thinking more along the lines of being in the middle of the wilderness, trees stretching for miles and miles in every direction.  Something like this, with a bit fewer conifers.  I'd like to clear just barely enough land to build the cottage with a bit of land by it for a garden, leaving trees with branches shadowing the house to make it almost part of the forest itself.

There's still a bit of forest land like this in Western Pennsylvania and along the Appalachians in the South.  I wouldn't want to go any farther North, though much of New York is breathtakingly beautiful.  It's just too cold for me.

Well, Forests are allright but I get claustrophobic without fairly large bodies of open water.
My favourite place would be somewhere with fairly warm climate, lots of woods/jungle and water and in a home I designed myself where I would live with my Sabina who would by then hopefully be my wife and two tigers. With children and maybe grandchildren coming by to visit now and then.

warm? with alot of forests? how warm do you mean?

Plus if you want to be surrounded like that you will always have to think of caring of the nature or nature will take care about you it's own way. Plus bees, mosquitoes, and alot of other kind of insects will be present, nasty summer :p I would rather a less forested region, lake district is fine for me, i would get cattle, like alot of sheeps...awww

I would be happy in the tropics, as long as it is by the beach (it could just be home then)...
