Title: Your last address...
Post by: Delfos on June 05, 2007, 12:33:53 AM
If you could choose your last address, some other place, a better place to 'live for the rest of your life', in other words, the place you will die, What place would that be?

I ain't reveling mine yet, but it's what i call the Happiness Paradise. We love to live my last 20 years or more there.

I don't accept death... period.

Its not so much the last place i spend on Earth that concerns me, the fact that technically you are dying from the second you are born, and the only thing guaranteed in life (apart from taxes) is death. I would like to think that i will live long enough to spawn an offspring or two, and have a beautiful wife and move back to Ireland, I know if sounds corny... but is ever-increasingly un-likely with the current world.

Its all academic anyway how you leave this world is of no concern as to what happens in the next.

I plan to live forever, so I don't think this applies to me.

keep dreaming.

Hendrix that's what i mean, where will you settle your life until you die. Ireland is your answer?

Had a funny arguing about death long time ago. I claimed that the person couldn't know i was gonna die, not that i was immortal, but that we never know the future, so he couldn't guess i would die, can you? But anyway, dieing or not, even immortals choose where to live until their boring lives become too boring. Even if they cannot afford it, i said in 1st post, if you could choose, like bang! and you're there.

My gateway to 'paradise' is Cuba.

I suppose I would like to live out my life in a small stone house in the woods, full of bookshelves and cooking implements.  As long as it was a nice, dense deciduous forest at a low altitude, I think I would be more than pleased.

A little stream in the back wouldn't hurt, of course.

seems a British cottage, May i advice lake district? :p

no, you want to get a cottage like that on the Breacon Beacons in Wales, Lake district is alright, but not as aesthetically pleasing as Breacon.

Both look lovely, Brecon especially, but neither area looks to be as heavily forested as I would prefer my dream home to reside in.

This is in Brecon and it looks absolutely marvelous, aside from not being quite as surrounded by trees as I would like.

aye thats a pretty nice shot, the hills around brecon are breathtaking, and it has its fair share of forests and woods though.

how about the devils punchbowl, its like someone took a giant ice cream scoop took a chunk out of england, and then filled it with trees.

i actualy quite agree, but adding on a garden and a grove. also it would definately need a large fireplace. but otherwise exactly!

^ Yes, definitely!  A small clearing or glade every now and again is almost inevitable in a large forest, and I agree that a cottage needs a garden.  Vegetables and flowers, huzzah!

^^ Ooh, that's pretty!  I'm thinking more along the lines of being in the middle of the wilderness, trees stretching for miles and miles in every direction.  Something like this (http://www.wildlandsleague.org/imgup/forest.aerial.jpg), with a bit fewer conifers.  I'd like to clear just barely enough land to build the cottage with a bit of land by it for a garden, leaving trees with branches shadowing the house to make it almost part of the forest itself.

There's still a bit of forest land like this in Western Pennsylvania and along the Appalachians in the South.  I wouldn't want to go any farther North, though much of New York is breathtakingly beautiful.  It's just too cold for me.

Well, Forests are allright but I get claustrophobic without fairly large bodies of open water.
My favourite place would be somewhere with fairly warm climate, lots of woods/jungle and water and in a home I designed myself where I would live with my Sabina who would by then hopefully be my wife and two tigers. With children and maybe grandchildren coming by to visit now and then.

warm? with alot of forests? how warm do you mean?

Plus if you want to be surrounded like that you will always have to think of caring of the nature or nature will take care about you it's own way. Plus bees, mosquitoes, and alot of other kind of insects will be present, nasty summer :p I would rather a less forested region, lake district is fine for me, i would get cattle, like alot of sheeps...awww

I would be happy in the tropics, as long as it is by the beach (it could just be home then)...

I said forest/jungle... it would probably be a mediterranean climate or slightly warmer. Moskitoes are an annoyance, but in some of the northern parts of sweden, the moskitoes are so numerous at summer time they can litterally make clouds thick enough to darken the sky... I doubt it can get worse.
And it's still waters that makes for moskitoes, not trees.
Title: Re: Your last address...
Post by: Delfos on June 05, 2007, 02:27:34 PM
that might be true in the north :p we have the ocean and the mediterraneum, it's humid enough so that mosquitoes live. But they do not make clouds, it's far better, but doesn't end to be annoying. Plus you have to count with them for more time than in Sweden, while you have low temps and half the year under darkness :p Anyway, you would become a lobster here. Warmer and happier, Cuba <- :p

Greece is alright btw.

I want what Allama's having.  Oh yes.  Absolutely.  But with one stipulation - my kids all have to live within a half hour's drive.  I plan on baking LOTS and LOTS of cookies, and I'll need grandkids around to eat them all.

Since I probably won't live forever, I would love to end up here. It's Hilo, Hawaii. I went there once in college and the place was so beautiful. I know it looks like a big city, but it's actually peaceful there. Not far from some of the best surfing there is either.

That waterfall looks absolutely gorgeous, Korinna!  Excellent choice.  :)

I had a thought; I want a summer home in Italy.  Can I do that?

Love Al's idea...
Kor: is that Maui? or O'ahu? Cuz O'ahu is very nice, despite all the population on the coast.

Ok, mine. I would love to have a medium-sized house in the foothills of a mountain. Surrounded by trees (deciduous and evergreen) and preferably a lake nearby. It has to be so that it gets snow in the wintertime (yet not too much, too often. Too much being over 3 ft for me) and it can get warm enough to go swimming in the summertime (being above 80 for at least a week to warm the water). I know this seems rather impossible, but my grandparent's house fits perfectly. They lived near Flagstaff, Arizona, where it can still get scorching hot (95 degrees or hotter) in summer and still snow (alot) in the winter. Sorry, no pics. Though I'm sure y'all could, I'm just lazy. :P

A BIG improvement ;D

That reminds me of a place near my old folks, It's a tiny piece of forest at the sea beneath one and above another limestone cliff. The forest mainly consist of wether beaten pines and bushes, but all the trees are covered in evergreen vines, basically transforming the forest into a webway of green cozy tunnels where the sunlight sifting through gives everything a warm, golden-green glow.

Yup, and for the moment, it's on military exercise grounds and the training base it was attatched to has been disbanded so it will be left as it is for some time, at least I hope so.

I'd want to live on a chateau in Cote d'Azur. All the lavender and beaches.

Actually, Tal it is on neither of those. It is located on the largest of the islands, which is actually called Hawaii. On the coast there are a few small cities, but the rest is fairly remote.

I want a large oasis next to a huuuuge desert. Preferably with a city like Shapeir close-by.

Alg- the last thing Soly wants is to live out his ending days with an annoying little panda drinking his taxable water and eating his money (It is NOT lettuce, little panda!).

We'd serve various products in addition to water, including, but not limited to H2O, hydrogen monoxide and "the fourth element."

Could you take Soly along as your Prime M of the Philippines? He could also play ninja on the roof at night and you could give Allama unlimited access to Mrs. Marcos' shoe-collection.

I've already died multiple times before... >_>

One time some guys in white togas all gathered around me with knives and stabbed me proclaiming they were saving the Senate..

Another time after I invaded this boot place my bitch of a wife killed me...

Oh yeah! going further along I got burned for saying the Earth wasn't flat, then there was the time I died on a secluded island because I made a few too many invasions in Europe.

Then there was the time when people were yelling Duce! Duce! my country got invaded and then some commies killed me and this girl I ran off with.

Now I'm in this body, need to think of what else to invade <_<
