This has got me thinking.

Are there comedians in Oceania? If the people can't have orgasms, can they laugh?

If the Commonwealth turnes into more than it is like a defensive alliance instead of a trade and immigration alliance, then people might think the British Empire has returned. Which isn't that bad. I wish that I could live under the Empire like my grandparents before me. God Save the Queen!
Here here! I would prefer a strong defence/economic alliance between the Commonwealth nations to the EU, NAFTA, North American Union, or even NATO.

Most Americans would probably echo the same sort of objections to any sort of North American Union. Just look at how they freak out over Mexican immigrants.
Maybe with Mexico, but America has historically always had an eye on Canada.
Of the three North American nations, which one is pushing the hardest for this to happen? The good old US of A.
meh if anything it will be cool to finaly get the second american civil war started so new england can finaly become a part of canada (over 75% of the people i have asked about this support the idea) and the south can finaly do whatever it was they wanted to do and well hollywood could hold onto the west coast until china invades and makes them think twice about who is the bad ass of the world.

I would rather Canada not join the EU or a North American Union. Both would detrimental to our sovereignty.
I would like to see the UK pull out of the EU, and help strengthen the British Commonwealth. Let that serve as our primary economic alliance.
Oh look, something we can agree! Either full integration or step out of it, being in the middle of it only makes things worse...for the rest of us.

Great Britain has always considered themselves separate from the rest of Europe, so I don't see why they should be a part of the EU. Most Britons agree with me on this actually.
If the EU wants to go to the Euro, cool. Britain opted not to go that route, and that was a wise choice, but if I were calling the shots in Britain the Euro plan would have been the last straw. Why they're still part of the EU is beyond me.

Again, strengthen the British Commonwealth, let that serve as Britain's economic and defencive union.
Oh, and disband NATO. Since the USSR's collapse it's grown more and more irrelevant.

The EU is a negative thing, in my mind. The repeated laws its enacting on its member nations, such as the whole forced-energy-saving-lightbulbs thing, would really get on my nerves if I lived there. Sure, the euro is zomgthebestcurrencyever now, but wait a couple of decades for inflation to set in. That's how it works with any other currency, just because the euro has a good exchange rate now doesn't mean it always will.

that's where we part from the rest, we are smart, well educated and culturally advanced, one of the main reasons we have faith in Euro. Britain is in EU for the sake of it. They are Europeans, some of them think it's the right thing to be in, most of the rural workers say "Hey, let the EU continue flood us with their money.", others say they should have Euro, but apart from any other country in Europe the students do not wish to learn any other culture, any other language and see immigration a big problem, and EU is helping this problem to grow. It's the kind of conservative protectionist ideals England have been defending for centuries since the initiation of their national identity.

I would say most of the ideals have passed through other colonies, the ones you are talking about. The rest of Europe is quite distinctive, we like diversification, multi-cultural identity of EU...we like to open frontiers, we like to help others, we like to help ourselves. The rest of Europe isn't ecofreak, it's just cooperating with what have been established way before this whole Al Gore thing, Al Gore is just important to many of us because he really tries to pass the message to Americans, but what the hell, they rather make the climate worse, i wouldn't care if we weren't living in the same world.

forced-energy-saving-lightbulbs
:h: no one is forcing me, i still use some normal lightbulbs, oh but wait, they give us free forced-energy-saving-lightbulbs at the supermarket...why should i waste money in something that is worse than the ones they offer? do Americans like to waste energy on purpose? by your argument, it sure seems so. Maybe you should look at USA budget to see other wastes...maybe yours taxes would go down...who knows.

So sure, lets talk about China. Desertification = Rural Exodus = + Desertification = Unbalanced-workforce-between-rural/metropolitan-areas = + Rural Exodus = + Desertification = + Cheap-Labor = Cheap-Industries = pollution = + Cheap-Energy-sources = + pollution = + Desertification = +Rural Exodus. They are millions and have million kilometers of fertile land, but this multiplication divided by the millions give huge problems. There's sand storms in metropolitan areas originated in former-agricultural areas. I'm not sure if there's laws against the 'bad' or 'evil' exploitation of the land making it sterile or if there's rules upon industries about not polluting the lands of any sort, or even if there's protective laws on agricultural areas. If there are all that judicial matter it doesn't seem to be in effect. Is there a problem with the Chinese Law? or is there a problem with Chinese Industry? Will this affect the Chinese Population numbers?(for the worse or better?)
