« on: December 09, 2007, 04:42:57 PM »
I cant get any memory stick to work with my latop. Keeps saying "invalid data".

I feel like I've tried everything but open to ideas about how to solve this!

Have you installed the correct drivers? Which OS is installed on the laptop?

I suggest sacrificing a goat if the drivers don't work.

I have tired installing the correct driver downloaded from the makers of the memory stick's website but still not luck. My OP is windows XP Pro.

You can try to reformat it as you would a disk.  Obviously though you're going to lose what ever data is on there.  If it works on another computer, save the stuff to that, reformat the the stick and then transfer the stuff back over.

something that works with university computers is you put the memory stick in prior to logging in otherwise it doesn't work the computer refuses to read it.

And how would you do that?

I'm assuming its for a pc.  Put it in, open up "My Computer", right click on the drive, one of the options is "format".
