I like the way V always loses things that he put down just the night before, next to the clock (or was it the candlestick?), that have inevitably gone missing when he wakes up and can't be found anywhere, even when he looks all over the house, which, incidentally, was built by his great-grandfather, using funds from his rich nephew, who gained his money by wisely playing the stock market for several years.
