I am curious about this, also: why mention romance specifically over simply fiction in general? Do you value it differently than other fiction? A lot of people seem to do so.
I didn't really think about it, but I guess I do, but I also like short-stories. I guess it has to do with the economy more than with personal preference, you'd only buy a "large" book, which is sort-of expensive, to read it for pleasure, you try to disseminate it more than the movies you watch, and really only spend those 20 to 40 euros in things you're really going to cherish, and maybe that's why Romances are more valued. Well I'm talking to an avid consumer of books so that might be different, even with cultural differences aside, but like going to the cinema I tend to only go for movies that show promise being spectacular in the cinema, with high cinema value, I also funel in books, go for more expensive more lengthy more rewarding experiences, and just like in movies sometimes I want to throw it to the ground.
