You apply to the Ghost academy. Takes a year of training.
It's mostly mental so you have to study a lot. You get to do a written and practical test at the end.

Hey, I discovered it. I demand an extra three percent!

Anyhow, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my share. I figure it's pretty difficult for ghosts to actually buy stuff. Maybe I'll just hoard it.
