Stellarian Cathedral to be Built it Takasia
« Reply #23 on: May 30, 2007, 09:12:55 AM »
ST. TAKASBURG (Agence Takasie Presse) - The Stellarian Church has decided to buld its cathedral in the northern end of the capital. When built, it will be the largest in Takasia. St. Takasburgers were lukewarm to the news, highlighting the fact that general Takasians are indifferent about religions.

Except newly-converted workers at the construction site, nobody was willing to spare the seconds to comment on the cathedral. "It's just for the job, you know, as no contractors are willing to employ us any more," said a worker who has just converted and got the construction job.

Mayor Berry King of St. Takasburg has welcomed the building of the cathedral, "it does alleviate some unemployment problem, though we see little more value than that." The Foreign Relations spokesman has applauded the cathedral as the sign of improved relations between Takasia and Stellaris.

Property Price Plunged in Northern St. Takasburg
« Reply #24 on: May 31, 2007, 07:29:03 AM »
ST. TAKASBURG (Agence Takasie Presse) - The Stellarian cathedral in construction has unexpectedly brought down the property price in its neighbourhood significantly. "The cathedral has attracted the scum of St. Takasburg and Mustcover into the preccint," commented John Cain, a property consultant, referring to the influx of the unemployed and welfare seekers, "and this definitely lost the appeal to many potential buyers."

"The building of the cathedral has devastated the hope of a shopping mall or swimming pool, what most tanents longed for," he further commented, "without the amenities, the property price is destined to fall."

It has recorded a minor exodus from the region, where the property price has gone lower for the already bargain region. The average apartment price per square foot has dropped by about 20% from 1385™ to 1102™. And the price is expected to fall even further.

Failure at Saskatoon
The Cree Civil War Going Bad For The Emperor
The Imperial Army of the Cree Tribes has been swept away from the city of Saskatoon by the soldiers of the Red Liberation Front. The lose at Saskatoon has pushed the Imperial Army across the central plains to the industrial city of Kerak. Kerak is an important center of the Confederacy of the Cree Tribes. A majority of the nation's tanks, planes, and other military weapons are made there. Emperor Paul I had issued an order to all his citizens and soldiers. "At Kerak, we will make our stand. Not one step backward. We will turn every block, every street, and every house into an impregnable fortress. Rise up, peoples of the Confederacy." The Red Liberation Front is now moving towards the city of Kerak. In respnse, Emperor Paul I has donned a military uniform and is now leading men to prepare the city for its defense. He had this to say. "I am a citizen of the Confederacy. I wouldn't be doing my duty if I sat back and let others fight for me. Besides, the people dont serve me, I serve the people."

The Red Liberation Front has sent an army south to the port city of Anchorage, the home base of the High Seas Fleet. But they were stopped by fighters, fire from the ships and a strong resistance force. Anchorage is the only city in eastern Cree that still is under the Emperor's control.

« Reply #27 on: June 11, 2007, 11:50:30 AM »
JULUKIN MARITYU (Agence Takasie Presse) - The Algerianbanian capital of Nikin is finally connected to the sea. With the completion of the Canal Panda, which leads the capital city to the ocean at Julukin Marityu in the northeast, the once landlocked country is now navigable by water. The dams along the canal provide substantial pollution-free power for cities and ports along the canal.

With the extra manpower provided by Algerianbania, the construction time was reduced to a lightning-short 7 years. Takasia Canal A.G. owns the canal, while retaining 90% of the revenues generated by the canal toll and power sales.

Takasky Mark Reached New High, Industries Raised Concerns
« Reply #29 on: June 17, 2007, 08:28:33 AM »
ST. TAKASBURG (Agence Takasia Presse) - The mark is trading at $2.22 today, reaching its historic high. The export sectors are among the most worried about the rising currency. "The expensive mark has made our country lost quite a few contracts to cheaper competitors. We really wonder why the UN still consider us as a "frightening" economy," commented Moneda Greenback, the spokesman of The Commerce Chamber of Takasia.

On the other hand, while the country is seeing fewer inbound tourists due to the inflated mark, the outbound tourism sees an unexpected boom. "It gets so much cheaper to enjoy a holiday out of Takasia, and everybody is fleeing Takasia for cheaper holidays," commented a travel agent. However, the tourism in Takasia itself has transformed to niche markets such as ecotourism centering our northern fjords, and luxury tours featuring our ubiquitous casinos and brothels. "Only the rich come to Takasia now, and we need to rebrand ourselves for the increasing affluent customers," said a St. Takasburg casino operator.
