Minecraft Rules
« on: July 05, 2011, 08:54:56 PM »
Note: The following rules are potentially obsolete. They are subject to change.

The following rules apply to all members of Taijitu playing minecraft on its server. Please note that the server owner and non-Taijitu players have priority at all times.

If you have questions regarding the rules, make a post in this forum or ask in the Minecraft chat (for minor concerns).

Console commands

Things you may do with console commands:
  • Use the teleport command when agreed upon by both parties
  • Use the day/night changing command when agreed upon by all
  • Use the give command for public projects (see below)

Chat

  • Refrain from swearing or other potentially inappropriate language (Note: this is subject to change, but be reasonable for now).
  • Be respectful of others. Be respectful especially of non-Taijituans in the server.
  • Try to avoid spamming too much Minecraft stuff in the IRC channel.
  • If you need to negotiate trades, post in the Bazaar. You can do so in Minecraft chat, but too much would likely be annoying.

Interactions

  • Respect the property of others. No stealing, no mining from their mines, chopping down their trees, and so on.
  • Don't attack other people, except as a greeting.
  • No griefing. If you must, make sure it is easily reversible and in good fun - and don't grief people you don't know.
  • Be considerate of server limitations. This may become a problem if enough people join.
  • Respect the space of others.  Don't build on their land, don't build unsightly monstrosities near them, flood the area, set things on fire, and so on.

Public works

If authorized, public works may be constructed as a group project. Do not substantially contribute unless given permission to do so. There should be a thread for each project in the forum. If agreed upon, cheating can be authorized to expedite construction.
