The Greenthumb Society is an independent social organization designed to track and record voting records of senators on environmental issues. The GS is not a political party, and does not participate in politics or debate on public policy. It's primary goal is to inform the voters on issues ranging from environmentalism, conservationism and animal rights. It is the aim of the Greenthumb Society to improve regional awareness of environmental issues plaguing the region's shared nation, Taijitu Founder and to improve the protection, conservation and advancement of environmentally sound policies and practices.

The Scale (How it works)

Each senator is graded on a scale determined by yours truly. This scale is set at zero, being environmentally neutral (balanced or no stance set), and is tallied based upon a senator's vote. Each category is graded independently. If Senator A has been given ten eligible issues (or those on environmental issues), and votes four times out of ten in favor of Eco-Friendly options, his score is -2. If Senator B is given seven options, and votes five times in favor of Eco-Friendly choices, he is rated at +3. It is determined on a scale that assumes each senator accumulates, or loses votes over time, which adjust his or her overall score.

Notes: Dismissals account for a negative vote. A breakdown of what constitutes an environmental issue is:

Anything that could negatively impact the overall score of the environment, reduces numbers of the national animal, reduces public transport funding, supports pro-auto investments (over environmental options - Yes, ban cars, because it won't actually ban them!). It also includes energy policies, nuclear or weapons research containing biological or chemical weapons, as well as conservationist issues such as drought or food shortages.

Party scores are a cumulative score of combined senators.

Perhaps there would be more environmental progress if someone other than the ProP was elected to senate.
Today's date is: Today is Jocidi, 5 Cielidor AR 5 - Day 1770 of the Glorious Revolution.

Many trials make manifest
The stranger's fate, the curses' bane.
Many touchstones try the stranger
Many fall, but one remains.

I like how most people have a negative score

If one looks closely at the records made available to the public on Founder Issues, it is unfortunately realized that most senators have made environmentally harmful decisions. Hence the low numbers. Hopefully this project will encourage greater awareness of the impact those choices have on our precious natural resources, like the majestic enderman, which is now a favorite course for many citizens.

6/28/12 Update: A new section called 'Ender's game (The Situation)', has been released. This section tracks the status of the national animal and also tracks recent passage, dismissal or rejections of environmental issues in Taijitu Founder.
