Liberate Hanseatic League
« on: July 18, 2012, 05:53:22 PM »
Category: Liberation
Nominee(region): Hanseatic League
Proposed by: Neutricland

Quote from: Liberate Hanseatic League
NOTING that Hanseatic League's new delegate, The Kingdom of Mizialand took full control of the region and announced its fall,

APPALLED by the fact that The Kingdom of Mizialand password-protected the region to prevent any new nations from coming and threatened the native nations with ejection if they didn't leave,

CALLING the WA to act before the region falls so that the native nations of Hanseatic League can go back to their homeland,

HEREBY liberates Hanseatic League.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I would like to see where the natives went, and if they all went together and if they are happy there. The region is almost barren now, and perhaps they won't return. Of course, there's a chance I'm totally wrong about this as well  :h:

I believe in the auto-determination of the people. Therefore I'd rather see this region liberated so people decide to stay or not, and won't vote against just because people MIGHT not go back or because practically won't restore the region to former glory. People should have the choice to decide by themselves if the region stays or not, should be a democratic process. Would be interesting that this kind of "admin" decisions in regions could be submitted to vote by system itself. It's anti-democratic to lock it by unilateral decision and leave it locked by the WA when we have a chance to restore democracy to this region. Let them be free to decide what to do, I bet this The Kingdom of Mizialand wasn't elected to lock down and make it fall, sounds a post-election thing, right? I'm not very experienced in this, how did this Mizialand took control, by election?

The delegate was a native. All of the natives are nowhere to be found, and the only remaining natives are inactive. To me this is waste of legislation.

No natives, I change my vote to abstain, still think it shouldn't remain locked unless that's part of the process of deletion.

Upon further research, it was found that most natives had left the region or CTE'd, and all that was left was the delegate and 2 nations on the verge of CTE. The author even admitted himself that he stumbled across the region and decide to write the proposal without doing research.
