President Alexis Trudeau won his bid to return to the World stage by passing the Taijitu Affiliation Act in the House of Commons, today. The motion passed by 106-99, with all 205 members showing up for the vote. In a shocking twist, six of the twelve members of the Aryan Party, who had caused the withdrawal from the Equatorial Alliance last October, switched sides and voted in favour of the proposition. They were immediately purged from the Aryan Party.
« I hate to say I told you so », smiled President Trudeau in a joint press conference with State Secretary Michelle Läder. « While the Alliance was a solid stepping stone, we believe the Region of Taijitu will bring us even more opportunities. » Questioned about the sudden turnover from the dissentants Aryan Party members, President Trudeau exchanged a warm laugh with the State Secretary. « We made them an offer hey could not refuse, explained Secretary Läder. With these six MHC, you now have half of the House Committee on Foreign Relations. »
Aryan Party leader Mike Quaken was livid outside the House Room. « Those motherf***** !!!! Half of them were lowlife pimps whom I took out of the gutter ! How dare they ! »
Many MHC have also stated that President Trudeau is expected to receive a full vote of confidence later today, his third in less than a year.
