The Allied States of Layolor
« on: May 18, 2007, 07:01:25 PM »
Hi!

Just joined the game, and affiliated myself with Taijitu.

The Allies States of Layolor is a naturalistic nation. Though we do not or will  not ban religion, our citizens tend to be atheist or agnostic. A naturalistic worldview is central in our schools, governments, courthouses and social institutes.

The populace consists mainly of scientists in all fields, with a strong artist caste.

I plan to do a lot of roleplaying, and though Taijitu seems great, a part of my game may be changing alliances and regions. For the time being, I'll be sticking around here.

Hello and welcome!  Enjoy your stay for as long as it may be.  We have a lovely RP section here, which I do hope you find interesting.  What genre of art is most often found in Layolor?

thanks for the welcome everyone!

Layolor has a strong DIY culture. Other nations are often amazed that what they consider underground, is wildly accepted in Layolor. There is a lot of popular music being made, in a wide variety of genres; the painters and sculptors tend to be avantgarde and conceptual, and our literature equally so. Though translated in many languages, it is often criticized as being elitist, or just plain dull.

Interestingly, there is a growing underground of artists organizing themselves into groups that adhere to strict artistic dogma's. They compose for orchestra's, paint landscapes and portraits, and write poetry that actually rhymes.

Layolor artisans have a great tradition in making sock monkeys. Most of them are modelled after our favourite philosophers.

Willkommen from a fellow artist!
Music is the key to the heart.

"Once art to me was something far off, unfathomable and unreachable... But I discovered that the real essence of art was not something high up and far off, it was right inside my ordinary daily self. If a musician wants to be a fine artist, he must first become a finer person. A work of art is the expression of a person's whole personality, sensibility, and ability." -Shinichi Suzuki
