We certainly do have an active
RP community. There are all sorts of themes to suit your mood. Personally, I only take part in the silly sort. And if that appeals to you, we've also recently started an IRC room devoted to it.
Some other spots that might interest you are the

Real Life section, where we have discussions on quite a variety of topics, and the
Games section, which is always a good place to pass the time or get the post count up.
