Hello and welcome!  It's nice to see a "non-forum person" making the effort to join us anyway.  :)  I agree with the above statements designed to get you to ask questions, because they're right.  I would also like to offer a slightly more... practical tidbit:

n00b advice: Join the RP and the forum wolves probably won't get you.
