Greetings from a newly founded nation!
« on: March 24, 2007, 03:02:09 PM »
Greetings.

Now I could stop there but that hardy seems like a very good introduction. So I'll start off by telling you a little about the nation's leader and the goals which we in Wheresoever hope to accomplish so long as our nation graces this world.

Our Leader:

I'm a philosopher, I am a scientist (and if those who believe that one must have a science degree to be "a scientist" in this day in age have qualms with that label then I will happily refered to as "one who has respect for the scientific process - personally I believe that one with that piece of paper simply has a piece of paper that says "Scientist" and that the actions of that person do or do not make them a scientist)

At the heart of my philosophy is his idea "The universe in infinite" and so in my life I've spent many a year trying to realize the full ramifications of that idea. I don't know if I'm right or wrong on that point but to quote a few noteable people "Wisest is he who knows he is not wise" (Socrates) and "A million experiments cannot prove me right but a single experiment can prove me wrong" (Einstein) so I believe the universe in infinite. I am a firm believer in two concepts which I hope I have lived up to in my life (the true litmus test for any philosopher worth their salt) that being you have as much free will as you have imagination and that the only rights one true has are those which they refuse to allow others to impede upon.

In reading over the forums I saw some interesting things being discussed and with some 80ish pages of member nations it seems like a diverse group of people (and thus a diverse range of views) so I look forward to some interesting debate.

I'd also like to add that from time to time I do swear (if it offends I'm sorry but I am what I am) and I make the occasional spelling error. I'm aware of the fact that I misspell words so please don't feel the need to point it out. As far as I'm concerend if you read my posts and all you have to say is "you spelt <x> wrong" then you really just wasted a post because if you knew what the word was to correct my spelling then I got the idea across; which is what language is really all about.

Our nation:

Just a platform for our leader to talk about things he find of interest. This has lead to so rather ranty public addresses, but the masses find it amusing and are free to stop paying attention at any time

Here's to the future,
                         Wheresoever

As Minister of the Community, I would like to welcome you warm-heartedly to Taijitu Wheresoever :)

You might be interested in some of the following...

The How To Section: Consulting some of the posted stickies here might provide you with an answer for some of your questions, and ought to help you off to a good start.

Office of the Minister of the Community If you are at any time lost, have any questions, or need help, have a complaint this is the place to go. I will be more than happy to assist you in whatever way I can.

Games: An urge to spam? Just need something to do while you wile away the minutes? Then the game thread is the place for you. Especially useful for building up your post count.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs: This is where you want to go if you wish to obtain a Taijitu citizenship. Very simple to obtain, and very much something that you want to obtain if you wish to pursue and ever more in depth approach to Taijitu. In particular, it opens the way to Taijitu’s political realm, and affords you certain rights and privelages.

The Senate: The heart of Taijitu politics and legislation, it is open to any that have met some rather simple requirements. If you have held citizenship for fifteen days, you can apply for membership in the Senate.

And one of my personal favorites to finish...

Roleplay: Perhaps one of the best I know of in NS, it’s worth checking out if you are so inclined. And don’t forget that wonderful map which Oz has blessed us with. Just remember: you need to have 30 posts, provide a link to your nation, and give coordinates.

I hope that’s enough to get you on your feet and started, but if there is any questions you have, any help you need, don’t hesitate to ask. I am more than willing to help :D
