I would like to put this to a vote by the council for acceptance as a rule in the RP.

The current system is:

Six[6] common resources (with three[3] of the commons needing to be some type of food, from which three[3] subcategories are picked) and 2 rare resources for your homeland.  One[1] additional common resource per colony.  One[1] colony can be selected as a Jewel Colony, containing a rare resource and a common resource.  When a nation is cut off from its colonies due to blockade, it looses the resources derived from its colonies until communication is restored.  If colony, Jewel Colony, or home nation is occupied, occupant can gather those resources in addition to oocupant's original resources.

The voting will last seven days, then no more votes may be tallied.  Voters should be RP Council members only.  You do not have to disclose which way you voted if you do not wish to.

I am afraid that I shall have to vote against. Though I love the idea of incorporating trade into RP, I think there are better ways to do it than to turn RP into a numbers and stats based game. I also ponder why three of the resources must be food. If this system is meant to facilitate trade, then I would think that such resource lists rather than representing an exhaustive list of all of a nation's resources (it's too short for that anyway) should instead represent those resources which exist in sufficient quanities to be exported, and not every nation has to be exporting foodstuffs. I might have voted For if not for that and compromised on the rest. But I desist.

I voted for. I think the ressource system will be a great addition to RP.
But I think that a must of chosing 3 ressources as foods is ...um, stupid. I also think that some changes should be made to it, but the base idea is great.
