An other Bowser & Fern cigarette met its doom as Consul of Foreign Affairs Erik Destler extinguished the bud in an ashtray.
He leaned back in his black fuax-leather chair, which sat at the head of a cherry wood conference table. Quickly he plucked an other fag from the gold-coloured Bowser & Fern pack and lit up, taking an other long drag.
The room, two stories under the Commonwealth Department of Foreign Affairs building, was sparsely furnished, but gave off en eerie feeling of closeness. Three lights hung over the table, one over himself, one over the table's centre, and one over the other end of the table. The table itself was lined with faux-leather chairs. Behind Destler, stood two flags, one to his right, the black banner of the Commonwealth of Inglo-Scotia defaced with the white lion of Parliament and the two red Vs for Victory. The other one, to his left, what the white banner of the Pax Imperium alliance, defaced with the gold lily.
Framing the doorway on the other side of the room stood two more flags. To anyone sitting at that end of the table would have found an other PI banner to his left, and to his right, the flag of the party the Consul was waiting for, the blue, red, and green banner of Canada.

The door opened and Consul Destler looked up. An armed Major General guard entered, giving the Consul the Commonwealth salute, which Destler returned in kind.

"The Canadian delegation has landed at New Beaconsfield International Consul" he explained.
"They should be here in relatively short order."
"Thank you" Destler replied, giving the guard the Commonwealth salute.
"Long Live the Victorious Revolution."
"Long Live the Victorious Revolution Consul" the MG replied before leaving the room.

"War has its advantages" Destler said to himself, taking an other drag on his cigarette.
"The Yanks are to busy to stick their nose where it doesn't belong."

The Hind helicopter that brought the Emperor and his sister, Princess Jordan to Inglo-Soctia slowly turned off. The pilot got out of the helicopter and opened up the door to let the monarchs out. Emperor Paul I smiled and thanked the pilot. He straightened his ceremonial uniform. He then extended his hand to the Princess. Princess Jordan Artorion was there to learn about dipolmacy. The Princess was very beautiful, about twenty-five and had golden brown hair. A man in a Commonwealth uniform came up to the Emperor. He bowed respectfully and the Emperor returned the bow. "Your Majesties, my car is waiting for you. I am to bring you to the Department of Foriegn Affairs building."

Paul looked at the man. "Alright show us to the car." The trio walked downstairs to the waiting black limo. The man opened the door and let the princess in first, then the Emperor. The man closed the door and started up the limo. The limo went through the capital of the Commanwealth of Inglo-Scotia. The princess could only marvel at the city's beauty. The limo stopped in front of the Department of Foriegn Affairs. Jordan looked at her brother. "Do they know that the Emperor is coming?"

Paul shook his head. "No, I sent them a letter that I am in Anchorage helping the Fenexians and Takasians. But at the last minute, I thought that because this is an important matter, the Emperor himself should be here. I brought you along so you can learn when you are a monarch of your own country." The man opened up the limo door and let the Emperor and the Princess out. A Major General guard was waiting for the pair at the door. The guard nearly fell over in surprise when he saw that the Emperor of the Empire of Canada had come instead of an ambassador. "Your Majesties, let me show you to the conference room."

Dester looked up, surprised to see Paul I of Canada standing there rather then an ambassador. Still, he didn't show it.
"Your Majesty" he acknowledged, standing up before siting down again.
"Please, you and the princess may take your seats.'
Waiting until the Emperor and his sister had taken their seats, the princess to the Emperor's right, Destler continued.
"I trust all is well back in Winnipeg?" he asked.
"Yes, thank you" the Emperor answered.
"Splendid. Allow me to apologize for Lord Protector Crofts' absence. Had we known you would be arriving in person there's no doubt in my mind he would be here. Rest assured, however, that he extends his best wishes."

OOC: The capital of the Empire of Canada is Winnipeg. I always liked that city better.

Paul I nodded. "We would also like to extend our best wishes to him as well. I would like to introduce Jordan Artorion, Princess of Canada and the Don Tribe. As for Winnipeg, all is well. The new government is doing its job well, better than I could. But that is a matter that can be spoken later. Lets get down to business. As you know, the Empire of Canada would like to become part of the Pax Imperium. The Civil War showed us that if we are to survive, we must find friends who can help us, instead of use us as pawns for their greater gain. Fenexia's help was and still is appreiciated. Also with the current fear of another war on our continent, we need to be ready. So, since we have friends inside Pax Imperium, I would like to bring my country into the Alliance.

OOC: Ok, fixed my original post.

IC:
"Yes, that business with the Marxists was unfortunate. We would have liked to have been of some assistance, but at the moment we're stretched a little thing, with the war in the Americas and everything. I would like to hope that if we can push through to Tennessee we can end that conflict, but that's neither here nor there.
As for Pax Imperium, the Commonwealth supports your entry, and I'm sure the other members do as well."
Destler stopped to take a drag of his fag,
"The conference in Dallas has been dismissed. What that means is that by signing a formal alliance with the Commonwealth it binds all of our PI allies to you as well, and you to them, bringing you into the fold.
Rest assured, this alliance of mutual defence and assistants means that Canada will never fall victim to the scavengers of the international community again."

Destler reached down into his briefcase, removing a white folder, featuring the PI golden lily. Opening it up removed a sheet of paper containing the provisions of the PI alliance, the PI seal stamped near the top. Near the bottom were three black spaces. The space for the date had "June 24, 2007" stamped. Underneath the other two spaces were the names of the PI nations, excluding Inglo-Scotia.
"This document has been pre-approved by the other PI members" Destler commented.
He then signed the space over "Commonwealth of Inglo-Scotia, Consul of Foreign Affairs Erik Destler".
The last blank space sat over the writing "HIM Emperor Paul I of Canada".

The Major General guard in the corner moved to pick the document up, then placed it before the Emperor.
"To our mutual security and stability" Destler remarked, finishing off his latest cigarette.

Paul took the document and thanked the guard. Just above the writing of HIM Emperor Paul I of Canada, he scribbled his signature onto the document. "To Pax Imperium." he said in response. Also to show good faith, I will send First Shock Army into the Democratic States of America, to aid you and Dixie. But because of the coming war on our continent, thats all I can send at the moment."

"I understand completely, and seeing as the PI has not officially declared war as a whole, that's more then enough considering that you are under no obligation to do so.
Rest assured, should your nation come under attack your PI ally the Kingdom of Myroria will come to your aide.
Welcome to the Pax Imperium. May we be on the right side of history."

"No your Majesty, thank you.
I realize that making a long trip twice in one day can be tiring. If you would like we can have arrangements made to accommodate you and the princess if you two should desire to wait until tomorrow to head back."

Just before the Emperor could say yes, an emergency call on his phone made him pick it up. "This is the Emperor....Yes....That's great!....They will.....We do....Alright I will be there." He hung up. "I'm sorry. The princess and I need to get to Annabe immediatly. Myroria has just accepted the advancement of Princess Jordan as the new Queen of Annabe. She and I need to get back for her coronation. Tell the Lord Protector that he and you are welcome to the ceremony. Also, more Canadian soldiers will be sent to the American front as soon as possible."
