Canadian-Aemiliam Conference in Ottawa
« on: December 09, 2007, 07:27:27 PM »
Lord Protector Rommel looked over the reports about the Aemilian Free State. He liked how they were better organized then the Republic of Valhene and any othe other rebel groups. This group will indeed make a good ally if I can convince them that an alliance with Canada will be a wise decision. But for a free state to be created, it needs a country. Perhaps I can give them the island. The island was filled with the people who mostly didn't like the new kingdom in Acadia. By giving the isle, perhaps they dould rebuild their nation. A guard walked into the Lord Protector's office. "Sir, the leader of the Aemilian Free State is downstairs." Rommel nodded and replied. "Send him in." The guard left and the Lord Protector prepared to see the face of the man who wanted to build a better and free Dysanii.

Robert Murphy emerged from the door a couple of minute later. His wild hair and thick beard gave him the appearance of some ancient barbarian, however looks here were not what was important; before Lord Protector Rommel was the Chairman of the government of the Free State of Aemilius, but also, maybe more importantly to the Canadians, the commander-in-chief of the National Army.

The Chairman cautiously placed himself on the chair at the other end of the table, ready to hear whatever excuse this Canadian Lord Protector had for bringing him here.

Rommel saw the man known as Robert Murphy walk in with his wild attire. Rommel laughed inside. He resembled any lumberjack from IC. But he gave off this feeling of authority and leadership. Rommel could respect that. So when Murphy took his seat, Rommel passed over two pieces of paper. Murphy looked at both of them silently and then looked up in surprise. Then Lord Protector Rommel spoke up. "The first piece of paper is the Canadian recognition of the Freee State of Aemilius as a truly independent and free nation. But in order to be a nation, you need a country, so the Canadian Army is prepared to leave the Munster Isle for Austrolapore and the rest of the Imperial Federation. The second paper is both a trade alliance as well as a formal alliance between each other. We are the same people. We are both spawned from the South Continent, and we should be allies and not enemies. But in order for the alliance to happen, we need you to give recognition to Acadia as an independent nation within the Imperial Federation of Nations. We can both agree I am sure, that another war between us shouldn't happen. This war has hurt both our nations and we are sick of war. Canada's eastern cities are destroyed and Dysanii is now occupied. So if we show the world that we can be friends, then maybe...we can finally peace on the continent."

Murphy grunted, "This is most...kind of the Canadian government." He signed both pieces of paper and pushed them towards the Lord Protector. A small smile flickered across his face, "Acadia will always be a nation on paper. Acadia will not always be part of the Federation." He gave a small sigh, "But it will not part by my hand".

The Chairman then pulled out a tattered old map from his pocket and laid it on the table. "Now, for this trade agreement. I'll be blunt with you Rommel. I need these IPO forces out of Valhene if I am ever going to hold central Dysanii." He looked up to the Lord Protector, "What 'trading' do you propose?"

ooc: What do you mean about Acadia?  :-\

Rommel took the pieces of paper and signed them after Murphy. Then he turned to the map. "We are willing to support you finacially. But we don't care where the money goes, as long as it helps you rebuild a better Dysanii for Dysaniians. In exchange, what do you have that we can buy from you? Also, just between you and me, we don't have enough transports to bring all of our 'cargo' back to the Federation."
