Adminstration of Airship Developement
« on: February 02, 2007, 11:30:35 PM »
TO: Chairman Christopher Bustos the Fifth
FROM: Magistrate Keith Erriksen
RE: Bureau of Scientific Arts

Christopher Bustos 5 of Bustos-21:

It has become apparent to us that your arms manufacturing technology is nothing short of dominating. Though we here in High Evermore have many brilliant scientists, we sadly do not have the civil tranquility or obedience to develop any industries at the moment, and that is posing a severe problem for us because of or recent development of the HE-101 prototype. The HE-101 is a Rotary-Lift Airship, which uses pivoting Rotary Propellers to lift off and also move through the air and water. This dual-purpose ship/aircraft holds a crew of 5 along with 75 passengers, or three main battle tank sized vehicles and their crews respectively within its hold. The ship can dock in the three following places: At an Airship Terminal which is essentially a high tower with berths for the airships to tie to, Water, and Land. The hull shape allows for buoyancy, and lowering the propellers gives thrust to the ship; in the air, the rotary propellers can lift the ship off the ground without need for a full runway.

We have a scientific development team and the blueprints ready for our first mass-produceable model, and we were hoping that a deal can be struck. Will we gladly reward you for your aid in the following: Development, Marketing, Sales, and Production. Our scientific team can take care of all Research and Design. Please let me know ASAP if we can make some form of treaty or gainful organization to take care of these matters.

God Be With You.

Fowarded to the Offices of Commerce and Defense.  The two directors saw possibile rewards with the project and decided to let CAM take over in assesment of such an aircraft.  Responisibility delegated to Carol Black, CEO of CAM.  The letter was then forwarded to her office.

Subject:  HE-101, Rotary-Lift Airship

I would have to have your blueprints and desgins first verified by our own engineers and specialists to see if your aircraft is even possible.  I will be sending a team under the leadership of Jose Cholula to your nation to review your proposal.

RE: Rotary-Lift Airship

I have included design pictures as you have asked of the HE-101 Transport Class Airship. You can find them clipped within a separate folder. I do hope you concider this as we can have the full documentation wired to you by personal telegram on your terms. Let us know what you wish to do as our countries meager resources are at your disposal.

Jose Cholula, a man of hispanic descent, steps off a plane with the Bustian flag on its tail.  He stood out from his team, the only one dressed in a dark suit with sunglasses on.  As his team members stepped off the plane, you'd think they were coming for a "Revenge of the Nerds" convention.  Each fitting the classic stereotypical dress and mannerisms of a socially retarded geek.  Jose, who had several degrees in various engineering fields, and the rest of his team, waited for the ride to meet up with the engineers of High Evermore.

A Chinook helicopter with the Evermorian flag on it lands down on the airfield. From it emerges a man in a long black trenchcoat with several stars and ribbons adorning it. "Keith Errikson, Magistrate of the Administratio de Scientia. Follow me please, and we will take you to the research and development site." He approaches, stops, snaps a quick salute, then turns around and walks toward the waiting Chinook.

After arrival at the base, Errikson and several of his chief engineers take the Bustian attachment to the hangar to show them the aircraft, explaining its workings and getting ready to sign a deal. "So what will it take? We are ready to make any necessary transactions."

"Well, first things first," said Jose as he only briefly looked at the designs and handed them to his team.  His team quickly looked over the designs and the quiet bickering had begun amongst them.  One looked remarkable proud as he has been clamoring for such an airship and these designs were proving him right.  A couple others were poking holes in the lift capacity the desgins claimed to be capable of.  Two were studying the desgins intensely, and had yet to say anything but murmur to themselves.

"What specifications can you provide on this airship?" asked Jose.

The man in full regalia, Errikson, looks the engineers up and down and hands the head engineer a packet of paperwork. "Here are the full specification and blueprint schemata."

The papers read the following as one of the Evermorian engineers recited it from memory:

General characteristics of the HE-101 Airship:

    * Crew: 6-8: at least 2 pilots, 3 flight engineers, and 1 loadmaster; additional loadmaster and navigator are usually part of the crew

OOC:  Wow, those are the most realistic airship specs I've seen anyone ever present.  Trust me, you are not the first to project this concept in the RP.  *looks at KR n Nat*   :-P

IC:

Jose could not hide the fact he was impressed.  The specifications sounded very possible.  The Evermorians certainly had put forth alot of effort in creating this airship.  He looked over to his team, still engaged in some sort of dispute over the designs.

"I like what I hear.  I can't lie about that.  Any cost projections?"

OOC: It took me 4 hours in total to work out feasible schematics >< Glad you liked them though ^_^

IC:

Errikson looked very happy, and he handed Jose another packet.

HE-101 Base Materials and Cost Plans:

    *Materials:
            o Fiberglass Outer Hull
            o Steel Alloy Frames
            o Rotary-Pivots
            o Turboprops
o Miscellaneous Airship Parts - IE: Seats, Mechanical Gear, etc.

    *General Cost:
o 12.3 Million Dollars per Aircraft, 1.2 Million Dollars labor.
o Estimated Sales Prospectus: 15.8 Million Dollars p/airship.

The murmuring and bickering of the team finally ended and their silence caught Jose's attention.  He looked over and they nodded in agreement.  One team member looked clearly pissed and Jose knew why.  That member had personally been trying to devise such an airship himself, but never made a feasible design.  Jose simple smiled and kept that thought to himself.  He faced the Evermorians.

"Looks like we have us a future arrangement.  We'll have to modify some of our factories to make some of these parts but we can definitely do this.  In exchange for liscensing rights for CAM to sell this, we'll sell you every airship at 80% the final price, so at NS$12.64 million per unit.  Is this agreeable?"

Errikson looks at his men and they talk for a few moments. "Alright, we almost have a deal... We request full patent rights to the design of the HE-103 and accredation for the design and developement of the vehicle. Also, we can supply the Engines and Rotary-Pivots to you at 50% cost. Liscensing for selling and commercial production will go to you, and 80% of price sounds good. We can have 1000 engines and pivots shipped to you within the year if needed. Oh yes, and at 50% for one motor and rotary coupling it should be about 20,000 NS$."

"Patents and credits will be given to you for the HE-103.  We have the neccesary equipment to create our own engines and pivots once factories are modified to produce all the parts needed for the airship."

Errikson looks Jose over once more. "The deal is settled. Thank you very much, sir." The man comes over and shakes his hand firmly. "Its not about the money, we want to assure you. Our country lives simple lives, and we merely wish for people to see our ability. The entire nation of High Evermore wishes you the highest graces of God in your endeavours."

"Excellent!  Once we have our factories up and running, you'll be the first to know.  Your engineers and advisors are welcome to oversee the process and personally watch construction of the first airship."

"I will personally oversee the creation if that would be okay, Sir. Other than that, everything is good to go and we wish you're organization the best!"
