The Rebirth of the Taijituan System
« on: June 27, 2007, 03:40:18 PM »
The first Celestia mod I made depicting the Taijituan System was on my laptop. Unfortunately, my laptop is now beyond repair and can't even be turned on. I've gotten a new, desktop computer with a massive processer, and I plan to remake the Taijituan System, this time, not just in space, but in time.

What do I mean? Well, Celestia has the capability to show missions beginning and ending, and can go to different eras. For example, if you chose to go to, say, 60 AD on Earth, you'd find the absence of the ISS and Hubble, etc., and if you just open Celestia, you'll find Mir is not in orbit because the mission already ended. But, going back to 1995 or a year like that, you'd see it happily floating in orbit. I plan to implement it on a large scale, showing hypothetical missions (Just Myroria's currently, but I'd be happy to implement yours if you describe the type of mission and active years) throughout time.

I'd put a space station in orbit around, say, Nemesis in 2509, then make it go away in 2554.

Maybe a terraformed Orestes in the future. That kind of stuff is more of a group thing.

If you wish to participate in this, please post a request as follows:

1. Make sure you have 30 posts and a place on the map or one pending.
2. Use this form:

    Name of Mission
Type (space station, exploration ship, etc. No manned missions to other planets besides Selene may be requested until 2015, in which Orestes and its moon becomes available. 2050 allows manned missions to any planet with solid ground and an atmosphere that won't crush you/heat you beyond your spacesuit's capabilities. Althea will never be available, far too hot, nor will a landing on a gas giant. Gas giant's moons are available besides Calypso's, which are too hot.)
    Architecture (Modern, post-modern, future)
    Years Active
Picture or link to a logo you want to be used on your ship. UASS would use their flag or something, for example.

That is all. I will release this to the public, but be warned: It will be a large file.

Same thing happened to me!

Sucks, doesn't it? Well, not the new computer, but the laptop.

Name of Mission: The Illumina Project
Type: Space station, cooperational project with Myroria
Subject: Researching living conditions in artifical grounds out of the Taijitu.
Architecture: Early future (?) (about 30-60 years in the future)
Years Active: About 10 year, than, the space station (named after the project, "Illumina") was modified and built on an asteroide's surface.
Logo: I'd say, a book with the Feniexian "Wisdom is power" on it, printed over a Myrorian flag, or something like that?

Hope you agree to this, Myro.

Name of Mission: Thanatos Project
Type: Space weapon tests
Subject: Basing on the "Illumina", another asteroide base was made, but this time, the base was heavily armed with missile launcher batteries, gauss cannons, defense systems and even a small laser weapon, although the laser was counted as failure, because it was far to weak to break trough Taijitu's atmosphere.
Architecture: Early future (?) (about 90-110 years in the future)
Years Active: Like the Illumina, the asteroide stations remained, and research was done constantly, until a malfunction (or maybe sabotage? Who knows...) caused the station to explode in a large nuclear blast...
Logo: I'll create one later...no time for such that late in the evening ;) ... at least, it's late for me. 01:53 AM.

I will post some more operation/mission/whatever-descriptions later...

Nathaniel, how's this for the Illumina logo:

Combining elements of both our flags.

And, is the Illumina a man-made space station, or a space station in an asteroid like in Thanatos? Because you said Thanatos was based after Illumina.

Illumina was first a space station, but then, it was dissasembled, and from the parts (and some additional brought up from Taijitu) a asteroide station was built.

Oh, and please wait for some time before making a flag; I´m currently making a new Feniexian flag, and it will be finished in a few days I think...
