The Taijitu Olympics
« on: July 23, 2007, 09:13:33 PM »
We can collectively think up outlandish events to compete in (or pull some real ones), and then a group of judges will, based on who the people competing are, write up how the competition goes and who wins.

Pick our first event, people!
"I believe every single person is extraordinary. The tragedy is that we
have a society where too many people never get to fulfill that
extraordinary potential. My view – the liberal view – is that
government’s job is to help them to do it. Not to tell people how to
live their lives. But to make their choices possible, to release their
potential, no matter who they are. The way to do that is to take power away from those who hoard it. To challenge vested interests. To break down privilege. To clear out the bottlenecks in our society that block opportunity and block progress. And so give everyone a chance to live the life they want." - Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Most typos would be downright unfair, but ninja combat...interesting.  Let's make this a pentathalon.

First Event: Ninja Combat
Second Event: ?

Trout slapping.  You're judged on technique, volume of impact, and distance target is pushed backwards.

Alrighty, then, we have our second and third events!

First Event: Ninja Combat
Second Event: Trout Slapping
Third Event: Intoxicant Tolerance

Detalis of the events...hmm.

Well, we would obviously have to have a roleplay event for each, with whoever may not be competing (I might recruit of crazed; he's not involved in the elections, isn't crazy, and may not compete) judging.

We can also (possibly) take other threads into account (probably not, but maybe).  For example, someone's drinking habits in the Tavern, our their trout use in other threads, etc.  I will appreciate any ideas as to how the First Olympiad will be held, which nation will host the Olympics, who will light the torch, the Torch route, how the games will be run, etc.  (Yes, I want a host nation, a torch lighter, and a torch route)

If you are basing on other threads, you can change the first event to Pirate/Ninja Combat, and use the Pirate thread...

Fourth event... needs to be intellectual... Uh... (Ability to best) Confusing others, i guess.
Music is the key to the heart.

"Once art to me was something far off, unfathomable and unreachable... But I discovered that the real essence of art was not something high up and far off, it was right inside my ordinary daily self. If a musician wants to be a fine artist, he must first become a finer person. A work of art is the expression of a person's whole personality, sensibility, and ability." -Shinichi Suzuki

Confusing others...a bit vague...I suppose that's the point.  (Then again, this one also seems predisposed towards Bara...)

Robot Ninja Zombie Pirate Communist Alien Kombat?
