OOC: Guys, please, theres a thread for all this OOC shit. Myroria, this isn't Orestes, it was never claimed to be...I believe you came in and declared it was Orestes.

IC:

"Arh!" Another marine keeled over, live enemy rounds tearing holes in his chest.

The shots had come out of nowhere, taking the Fire Teams by surprise. Before anyone had worked out what was going on, 2 men had been shredded. The sergeant had ordered a tactical retreat into the forest, during which 2 more marines had been blown away. Now the marines were fighting a desperate battle in a thick wood, a deep gorge now providing cover for the remaining soldiers of Fire Teams Zulu and Charlie. They were pumping everything they had into the on coming aliens, using frag grenades, rifles and SMGs to keep them at bay, hoping to God it was enough...

On board the Oneida, things had become somewhat strained. After receiving the final message and watching the alien craft tighten formation, it was clear these guys meant business. With scattered transmissions from Zulu and Charlie of 'hostile activities', and the transport vessels unable to locate the Fire Teams, everything was going from bad to worse. The Captain had told the crew that it was unacceptable to abandon ground units under fire. However, he had not told the crew that there was another objective to this mission, that only he and Helena knew.

On this particular planet, there was a structure that was believed, by DSA intelligence, to hold ancient technology - which included valuable information into advanced shield and weapon systems. Zulu and Charlie hadn't been sent down to identify this new alien hostile, but to find the structure, which was somewhere near the settlement. Of course, only the sergeant had been told of this objective, but now that all communications with the teams had ended, getting to the structure was the primary objective of this vessel.

"Alien ship, if you lower your weapons and turn of your engines we will respond with lowered offensives as well. We will also order our ground forces to stop the attack on your aggressive forces on the planet. If the ground forces are not yours inform us of this and we will destroy them and let you go. But I feel they are from you as we know of no other advanced civilization in this solar system."

She ended the transmission and sat down, she hated fighting. She never understood why she was granted free mind, guess she was good at what she did.

Behind her the full fleet was moving forward about the forward ship. Each had full weapon systems up, fighters out in full.

-----

on the planet the droids kept moving forward, the smg rounds seemed to be having minimal effects on most, but the frag grenades were being highly effective. But as the fire fight moved into the denser area following the retreating aliens, some droids that had taken alot of fire fell back, they seemed smaller and would not fire anymore. They returned to the factory with out a pause.
