Aggresive Options

The cold planet made the Sanghielians feel at home. Sub-Commander Torna looked out over the mountainous region. He liked it here and now he had the honor of claiming the planet in the name of the Sanghielian Star Empire. Over his head were banshees flying in formation, as well as massive gunships. Behind him were the Sanghielians of the Special Operations Corps. They were dressed in their white armor and seemed to blend into the enviroment. The invasion was going as planned. The humans were unaware of them and probably didn't even know that a massive invasion force was arriving in a few hours. But right now, the SpecOps Corps was the first to fight. The Corps was made up entirly of Sanghielians, but Torna made sure that Yanme'e and Lekgolos were here as well. The Yanme'e were large insectoids and flew just above the Sub-Commander and his main force. The massive Legolkos were lumbering among the disiplined Sanghielians. They were nearing the first settlement. Torna was aware of his job. The SpecOps Corps were spread out among the planet and were preparing to launch a planet-wide attack on the main settlements, like the destruction of military positions and higher-ups. He growled at his Sanghielians and nodded. They all cloaked and moved into the city. The Yanme'e and the Lekgolos were waiting outside of the city just out of sight or radar. The banshees and gunships were also waiting.

Torna and his soldiers moved through the city, assasinating any military officers and civilian leaders they found. No one was the wiser. Torna smiled and walked through the city watching his men do their silent work. He was being bombarded by reports of similar actions in the planet's other cities. In a few minutes, he would order a general attack on the main cities, but he will only do that when the Sanghielian Navy arrives. He knew that not all of the military heads would be killed, but the most important ones and they're aides would. All he did was wait. Finally he resived the order that he needed to attack. The Sanghielian fleet had just exiting slipspace and was racing to start landing the regulars. Torna ordered the attack. Sanghielians uncloaked and Lakgolos and Yanme'e joined the attack. Banshees flew fast and started to destroy anything in their path. Gunships opened up with their main guns and were leveling buildings. Torna smiled. The human military would be caught off guard, the planet was as good as their's.

OOC: The Pelagians took over Earth a couple RPs ago. Are you RPing invading a human colony or Earth proper?

The IPSCC (Internal Public Security Connection Channel) of Petropavlovsk is awash with chatter as citizens, soldiers and politicians alike plead for help as the few cities of the backwater planet become infested with the ruthless alien invaders. Mass hysteria has gripped the population of the planet as the extent of the invasion and those conducting it becomes more apparent - the 'green' planetary garrison has seemingly crumbled under the impressive alien advance and what is left is scattered, unprepared and dazed and as such effective military response to the attack is virtually non-existant.

With communications failing and the defense broken it is now imperative - whether they knew it or not - that the garrison at Bomarsund hold against the alien onslaught until a strike force can be dispatched to relieve the siege. Without the mighty fortress Aræi will lose a significant advantage and the ability to launch a swift counter-attack will be ruined, sealing the fate of Petropavlovsk and its people.

The Ship Master Gono Val'tres was on the bridge of his assault carrier Particular Justice. The fleet he had with him was sending plasma bolts into the planet, destroying settlements and any emplacements. This planet was however a backwater planet of a vast interstellar nation. The Zealot-Commander said that the fortress where the last remnants of the human army was holding out, but the fortress was protected by a shield, so the fleet couldn't destroy it. It was up to the army to break this human army. The Sanghielian military leader looked out at the blue-white planet. Around the assault carrier was seven more assault carriers, and even more Yamne'e hive ships and Sanghielian battlecruisers. Gono looked at the hive ships. He didn't trust the insectoid Yamne'e. He believed that their voluntary entrance into the Star Empire was suspicious. But they fought hard and for the Star Empire, so he had nothing to worry about...now. A Sanghielian ran up to the Ship Master.

"Sir, enemy fleet exiting slipspace on a direct course for the planet."

"Prepare the fleet for attack."

The Sanghielian fleet came alive and prepared for combat. The fighters were sent out of their hangers into space and they readied themselves for the battle. Gono knew that this battle would decide whether the planet fell or not.

The group of ships exited slip space far above the planet. Comprising the strike force were several ships of the Black Channel Fleet and a number of merchant vessels that escaped Petropavlovsk and had hastily been augmented with cannons. The flotilla moved closer to the planet and formed the best defensive line it could around the carrier Opyt, which held the awaiting troops and armor that were to be transported to Bomarsund with all due haste.

Planet-side a large chunk of the Bomarsund garrison prepared to conduct a sweeping flanking maneuver on the alien ground forces. It was a risky plan, but hopefully effective enough to allow the reinforcements from the strike force to arrive in one piece without being harassed by enemy fire.

It is a planet inhabited by my race, the Aræi.

Ship Master Gono looked at the pathetic fleet that was coming to attack him and reinforce the stranded humans. The fleet spread out and prepared to flank the human vessels. The Sanghielian assault carriers spread out and the battlecruisers filled in the holes. Yanme'e hive ships prepared themselves on the flanks. Gono was ready. The human ships would have to throw their might at the four carries in the middle of the wall. Seraph fighters prepared themselves among the larger capital ships. The carriers and the battlecruiser turned to broadside the humans, while the hive ships faced forward. Gono looked at the pathetic human vessels. Merchant ships as the backbone of their fleet. They really need to be conquered and incorporated into the Star Empire. The few warships will be destroyed and then the merchants will be decimated. He turned to his crew. "Let the battle begin."

"Captain, the targets are assuming tactical formations. Looks like a flanking maneuver." An Ensign said, his voice calm, almost monotone. The Captain of the cruiser Raahe, Menshikov, studied a large transparent board in front of him, which displayed the positions of the vessels in his own strike force and those of the alien fleet.

'Thank you, ensign.' He punched some commands into his seats control panel 'Standard anti-flanking procedures to be issued to all ships. Inform the Captain of the Opyt to begin planetary descent A-SAP.' Several ensigns nodded and began busying themselves with their tasks.

The strike force began to move - the imperial warships formed two thick clusters to the right and left in the hope of repelling flanking attacks, whilst the smaller merchant ships, with three larger cruisers, assembled in the center but spaced further apart. This would make them harder to hit and enable them to rush forwards and move closely among the enemy vessels, not necessarily hoping to destroy but cause disarray, diverting enemy weapons and scrambling motion sensors. It was imperative that the reinforcements land, no matter what the cost.
