Futuristic RP subforum
« on: February 18, 2007, 11:49:25 PM »
Hmm...actually, I notzied that many people were against any usage of future tech, but some are pro-future tech, and some good RPers, like The Empire/King Rat, or Myroria, are using or wanting to use some...
So why don´t make a "Futuristic Roleplay" subforum? Some might remember this from back in the Lexicon were there was a "Fantasy RP".

Anyone interested in this? Anyone there who would like to take part in such?

Depends on the tech base.

Hmm...I´d say, PAs - yes, Hovercrafts etc. - yes, Space Colonies like Myrorias - yes (maybe even advanced), but all with a bit of "pseudorealism", and no "Death Stars" and such...I´m unsure about space combat.

Those are my suggestions. But if anyone dislike some of them or would like to add something, do so. This is nothing but a concept. And every RP depends on the RPers interests.

I like the idea!  It lets those who want to go beyond real-world tech to do so.

Lightsabers and Laserswords are the same I thought...? However, your space-combat related suggestions seem very well to me.

I wouldn't think laser swords would be very effective in war (certain unnamed SF notwithstanding).  "Ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side".

Hm, yeah...there are no Jedis or such, so it´ll surely be ok.

How would be Cyborgs? Should they be allowed?

future with out magic or with both would be fun, but a lazer sword would be a really bad weapon really, you got a sword ill shoot you from a mile away. its all good. But a future tech subforum would be fun, wouldnt mind having a space empire

Oh, and space empire...what do you think? In this case we can´t use our national statistics....
Should we allow RP of this epicness? Feniexia woud be interested in a space empire however.

Space Empires go too far and to an extent, so does cyborgs. Androids would be plausible because near-future tech would allow for things like robotics as well as partial cyborgs (IE: Cyberization of brainwaves, moving prosthesis using PLS, etc). Space colonization would be fine, but Imperial control of "Space Sectors" is too advanced I would say. Space Battle is feasible.

i like it and would probably join would there be any psychic abilities? i like the idea of soldiers who have training that allows them to utilize every muscle with perfect accuracy, space marines in power armor blasting each other away. though i would probably want to take up the position of a very powerful group of space pirates.

Hmm...yeah, I mainly thought of implantates and such to enhance or block something....
Psychic abilities? Hmm, I´m not against it, but they 1st need to be very rare I think and 2nd the other interested ones must be for it...

Hmm...I actually thought of a bit more "distant future" setting...but as I said, majority rule.
