Citizen-Delegate Debate

Any interest in another Citizen-Delegate Debate like we had last election?

I would be happy to moderate this as the administrator of the election, if candidates are interested in a debate.

Delfos suggested the moderator ask questions of the candidates (maybe citizen-submitted?) and we each answer them. Perhaps one or two questions a day, depending on the number.

I would be happy to do that too! If anyone has questions they would like asked of the candidates, feel free to PM them to me. Please indicate whether you want your name included with it, otherwise I'll assume you want to remain anonymous.

Quote from: IRC
[23:24] <@Delfos> either way we ought to rationalize the politics, foreign affairs, militia, community management, etc
[23:24] <@Delfos> a debate would be a good idea to get each stances but it can't last forever and we need a moderator, with questions later on
[23:28] <@Delfos> "give your stance on foreign affairs" go
[23:28] <@Delfos> like an interview :P
[23:28] <@Delfos> people will defend whatever they want
[23:28] <@Delfos> without specific questions, like, do you think TNP should burn down?

So we should have a 2 part debate imo. 1st part is simple, you have 1 question that each candidate will answer, it has to be generic so they can defend whatever they want on:

- promote more debate in the Ecclesia
- Diplomacy, Foreign affairs, allies, embassies
- Militia, treaties, organization, activity
- Community management
- The Cabal

then a 2nd part of the debate so people can ask random questions or them to specify specific specifications on what they said.

specify specific specifications

LOL that.

On a serious note; I second Delfos opinion.

I think we should start this as soon as possible given the limited number of days before the election. Maybe Cormac could start the debate today using one of the five things Delfos suggested and people could PM him more questions they might have?

If that's okay with him, of course. I would hate to draft him into this. ;)

I would prefer to start on the morrow, perhaps gather questions and conduct the debate on IRC then post transcripts up here?

Doing the debate via IRC could cause some issues, if people aren't available at the same times. I don't want to exclude a candidate because the debate is IRC-based.

I would be fine with starting tomorrow, whichever medium we decide on. That will give people time to PM me some questions!

I wouldn't be available on IRC until 9PM EDT. I would prefer the forum but would try to make it work if the other two candidates prefer IRC.

Either way works, if forum response makes it easier for your schedule let's do that. I would however like OTs position on this.

I'd prefer IRC, I find it easier than writing responses on the forum(hence my general lack of posts recently)
