The End is in Sight!
Vygar victory signals closing stages of War
Some time early this morning, the 3rd Vygar armoured battalion successfully wiped out a part of the remaining Rizon military presence in south-western Vygar, near the Sergoma mountain region. The enemy forces had set up a small encampment roughly 15 miles from the border, which was assaulted under the cover of nightfall by our soldiers. The blitzkrieg-type maneuver force the Rizon troops to retreat to the small border town of Zafaero, where they were surrounded & destroyed.
This latest victory is a promising sign that our fighting men & women on the frontlines are succeeding in driving these invaders from our lands & homes. It also signals that the Rizons have lost over 70% of their total military force, leaving their remaining troops cut off from vital supplies & reinforcements. Military experts predict that should our forces continue to succeed in battle like they are doing just now, then the fighting could possibly end withing the next month or two.
However - these victories have not been without a price. Over half of our nation lies in ruin, torn asunder by the harsh realities of war. Our once proud homes now lied destroyed & abandoned, the region scarred by the constant battle & death. Many of us have lost friends, family, relatives & loved ones to this conflict - & I can say with some certainty that many a Vygar citizen will be grateful when the day comes when we can finally lay our dead to rest in a proper manner.
We wish our troops the best of luck in ending this war as swiftly as possible - & in returning home, safe & sound, once the fighting has finally ended.
