OOC; This is VERY biased

IC: Yesterday, the feast day of Acacius of Byzantium, patron saint of soldiers was celebrated via a lavish military parade. Half a million conscripts, interlaced by thousands of tanks marched through Liang, led by the Pope and the sacred college of cardinals. Above hundreds of new model Migs zoomed over and on the river Flavius warships fired a forty gun salute. The celebration culminated in a special commemorative service held at St. Peters.
Note to Taitijuan press: Reports of a disturbance during the parade and of a brutal reprisal are exagerated, in reality a few drunkards were arrested for disturbance and given public floggings.

The First Ecumenical council of Liang has embarked on its quest to bring the church closer together. Hundreds of bishops have convened inside St. Peters Basilica and a delegation of Myrorian bishops is expected. Issues to be discussed are wide and far reaching, including the role of women in the church and the view on contraception.

In other news the holy church has spread to four new countries. Churches have been established and Archbishops dispatched to tender the flocks of Gallipoli-China, Tagirstan, Takasia and Algerianbania. Ornate churches showing the glory of God are planned in all of these nations capitals.

We let them bring us their tired, their poor, their hungry...

The Takasian sun has thrown the kindness and generosity of our decision to establish the holy church there back in our faces. Pope Leo, in his righteousness, decided to offer all Takasians the chance of redemption. Several million Lunaric Lira were spent financing the construction of the cathedral of Takasia, so as to make it visible to all those who could be saved, and for the glory of God. The building serves as a landmark, a draw for tourists to the city. A convent of nuns have been working in the vineyards of the lord, tending to the less fortunate of the Takasian flock. And yet feeding the poor, helping the sick and bringing glory to a foreign nation is not enough for the Takasians. The press there claims that those who worked on the cathedral were forced to convert to the light of God when in reality we merely said that as a holy building we only wanted Catholics to work on it, and as ever, anyone can convert at any time. The Takasian press thinks that Stellaris has some hidden agenda when we do not. Let us just pray that the good people of Taskasia are not taken in by such satanic propaganda. In a statement the Archbishop of Takasia said,
"The press must always have a villain which it can pick on and regrettably the cycle has come round to us. When I speak to ordinary Takasians they have no deep hate for our church. But the press is merely determined to stir up hatred. I think that soon they will see that we are not politicians but humble workers in the vineyard of the lord."
