Three members of parliament arrested
(KARAKAZAN)Three members of the Crimean Tatars Parliament was arrested by police yesterday.Because they disobeyed the Article 109 and Article 4 of the Constitution of Crimean Tatars Republic.Article 109 states the following:
1.A person who publicly denigrates Tatarness,the Republic of Crimean Tatars or the Parliament of the Crimean Tatars shall be punishable by imprisonment of between two years and ten years.
2.A person who publicly denigrates the Government of the Republic of Crimean Tatars, the judicial institutions of the State, the military or security organizations shall be punishable by imprisonment of between six years and thirteen years.
3.In cases where denigration of Tatarness is committed by a Tatar citizen in another country the punishment shall be increased by two third.
4.Expressions of thought intended to criticize shall not constitute a crime.
Article 4 states the following:
1.Republic of the Crimean Tatars' main language is, except for Autonomous Republics Crimean Tatar Language.
2.In the court,in the ministries and in the parliament except for autonomous republics, a language different that Crimean Tatar Language is prohibited and speaking,writing,reading an other language except for autonomous republics shall be punishable by imprisonment of between seven and fifteen years.
Now three members of the parliament is in the jail.
