The DireThe dire used to be head of the Parliament when Derva was still a kingdom. Except during the Lust Revolution in 1873 CE the Dire at that current time did not agree with many decrees of the young Queen when she came into power. Since the Dire was also head of the Al-hama Army he did a coup'd'tat in the night by raping the queen and then leaving her in the desert. The dire took power with supreme rule over the Dervish People through military and religious law.
The Dire is made a dire by the Supreme Sayyadina, or high Priestess. She speaks of the new Dire when the Dire has died or the Dire has reached 100 years old. In which case when the child of the chosen has been educated to lead they kill the High Sayyadina in a ceremony of the dancing lights.
