Brief History:
The Republic of Chavic started out as a prison colony, long ago, of The Kingdom Of Fyre. The colony was valued for its goal mines and its barren land was the last stop for political prisoners, along with others, sent under the guard of a large military force.
The colonists were forced to eradicate the native "hostiles" and then work in the mines at a near slave level. Needless to say, revolution brewed.
A man by the name of Chavic led a group of fed-up workers and began to attack small military outposts. Chavic's ranks swelled as more joined his side, bringing along looted weaponry. The Kingdom of Fyre invaded the colony, and were battled by Chavic's guerilla tactics. For six years the war raged on, and finally the Kingdom surrendered the colony. The new Nation rejoiced.
For three years, Chavic oversaw the building of the country, a democracy was formed. Then suddenly the majority of the members of the new leadership were killed in a mass assassination that came to be known as Black Tuesday, and the Kingdom of Fyre returned with a vengence.
For another three years the Kingdom's forces were fought on every street in every town. Finally the Kingdom finally retreated for good. Chavic had been killed in the final battle, but the nation had been saved.
The nation was named in honor of Chavic and grew quickly, its military and economy became famous.
The new Republic faced Civil War, more invasions, and economic depressions, but always came out stronger than before. Years passed and the memory of wars faded from the nation's mind. Party factions were formed and in fighting began for political power. The country was dissoving, anarchy reigned supreme. The government was so bloated that it could take no action. A Second Civil War threatened and mass riots left thousands of casualties in their wake.
A rouge general overthrew the government in a coup. Declaring a State of Emergency the Republic of Chavic fell under military rule for three years while the general reformed the political process. In a surprise move the general turned the country back over to democratic rule. The country had been reborn. The Republic of Chavic now seeks to attain its former glory.

The Republic of Chavic is a small, safe nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 9 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Chavic's national animal is the eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the drake.
