Urgent: A Call to Arms
« on: February 22, 2008, 03:09:38 PM »
Friends, Taijis, and regionpeople

The time has come for military action.  Our delegate has asked that we all be ready to take up arms against the threat rising around the globe.  The time to answer that call is now.

You can contribute whether you are an official soldier in this army or not.  All you need to do to get started is to PM me (on this forum) the following:
1.  the name of your UN nation
2.  a little bit about its history
     -which regions it's been in
     -if it's ever endorsed anyone
-if is ever been in any military or intel related activity
3.  if you have any switchers, their names and locations
4.  what days and times (gmt) you are generally able to be online

Even if you've been part of very recent Taiji military action, or even if you're an officer, please answer this survey.  The records need to be updated.

To all Taiji patriots, thank you.  Your dedication to this region is what makes it the greatest.

This military is about to be the best fighting force on the globe.

   Ladies and Gentlemen,

General Meridianland is correct, our region is in a state of declared war. Taijitu has given us alot, we have a fantastic and thriving community, an active and vital government, and a bustling RP section. It has been rare that Taijitu has needed anything from us, as a whole. That time has come.

Regions from across the globe are taking up arms to fight against the actions of Gatesville and the Westwind regime. Taijitu also, is answering the call, and many of our citizens have already gone to the front.

This is about more though, than Taijitu just 'doing her part' this is also about showing all of NationStates that our military prowess is every bit the equal of social success. Taijitu is not, nor will ever be, a paper tiger.

I could throw around alot more cliche's and a lot more rhetoric. I'm not though, the plain and simple truth of the matter, is that yes, we've got quite a few troops on the move. We need more though, the cause, as it were, needs more. This war is not over, not by a long shot. The outcome is very much in doubt.

This is not so much about TNP, as it is preenting a hyperpower from forming that could very well strangle the life out of this game. This can not be allowed to happen. And it won't, not on my watch, and not with Taijitu on the scene.

Joining the army does not take long. If you're new, fine, we'd love to have you, just send General Meridanland a PM with any questions you have, and she'll be happy to answer them. Serving in the army takes only a few minutes a day at the least, and can be of tremendous service to your region. Also, any of you newbies out there, looking to make a name for yourselves, here's a good chance and a great way to do it.

Few Questions:
1. Who are we at war against?
2. What's happening with the MOD minister not making this notice and Meri a General - just want to understand the decision making process.
3. Why have we got so much to worry about being a region with a founder?

Thank you.

1. We're at war with the world, as always.
2. He is drinking beer and eating wurst&sauerkraut in Bavaria for the next 4 days still (meaning I am busy irl) so it makes sense that the other General of the Army assumes all responsibilities. The other explanation is that Akka-Wakka mistook him for a pink waffle and he's now swimming in his gastric juice.
3. Because this game is also about action, making a move, participating, and not just sitting around saying 'we're safe, nothing can happen cuz we have a founder'. By that logic we should all move to a feeder in order to see some action. I am sure most of you have noticed that there's an important in-game conflict going on, so I suggest you start playing this game. If we won't, we're better off with just this forum and the RP, answering issues is not all that fascinating. Plus we won't have to worry about a thing.  ;) :fight:

Kinda answered the questions and just asking the questions cause someone has to.

But one final one - what regions are we at war with? Have fun in Bavaria drinking beer!

Taijis,

Thanks for your patience with the current state of affairs.

Although the situation abroad has cooled a little, it's not over by any means.

There are a couple of things you can do to help in the meantime:
1.  If you haven't joined the army, this is a great time to sign up.  Some major trainings are about to take place.
2.  If you're already an army member, remember to log into your UN nations so they dont cease to exist.  Keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming training opportunities too.  This will run the spectrum from basic training to advanced elite tactics.
3.  Brush up on your dance steps.  If you don't know how to dance, learn!  Taijitu will be forever victorious and there will be lots of celebration dances in our future. Bust a move for Taijitu!

If you have any questions, just drop me a message.  Thanks.

We, the Empire of Prethenon, just received a telegram stating that Taijitu as a whole is threatened by war. We are willing to supply all the troops and services needed in the upcoming conflict. And we are eager to test our new weapons systems.

Nation: Prethenon
History: A socially reclusive nation to the outside world, but with ambitions of power.
Regions: Pacific, Taijitu
Endorsements: None
Time of Availability: None set

The Confederacy of Technological Dominion is willing to assist.

UN Name: Technological Dominion

Historical: I see people are putting both IC and OOC historical descriptions. Not sure which one you want, so I'll put both.
(IC): Long reclusive, TechDom has only recently made widespread contact with the other nations of Taijitu.
(OOC): I'm pretty new to NS - joined about 3 weeks ago, and moved into Taijitu after about 4 days. The only other region I've been in is the North Pacific, and I've never endorsed anyone (honestly, I'm not sure how to...). Finally, I've never been in any NS military or intel activities, so I may be more of a limitation than an asset (as someone is going to have to explain to me how NS military ops work), but that doesn't mean I'm hesitant to join, learn, and assist.

Switchers: I'm assuming you mean alternate nations, in which case no, this is my only one.

Days:
I'm only on Monday-Friday, and usually sometime 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM (GMT). I'm also on the Taijitu forums at scattered times between 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM GMT, but can't be on the NS site/forums during that time.

I see I need to become a citizen before I can join the army... Hopefully, that will happen pretty soon. Then I will gladly sign up.
