If you want to propose anything else, like expulsion, please address your post and comment to IPO Meeting: Members at War.

The Illuminate is AGAINST this act.
I have become, again and again.

We are being far too hasty.  I vote against until such a time that the DSA's representative can make his case to the IPO.

Terrangar votes against for the reason already stated.
This would just drive the DSA to more desperate measures and prolong the war.

This sanction is on war materials specifically, like munitions and weapons. Other goods will not be restricted. Even if we can't stop the war, I will want a least the bullet used to kill a innocent civilian won't come from the factories of an IPO nation.

ooc: plus the sanctions are only applied by nations, an organization cannot move sanctions against a nation, unless to take away peace forces or humanitarian aid, which we still have not affiliated with.

Applying sanctions would only give DSA more of a region to wage war. The IPO from the outside could appear to be dominated by PI. Any sanctions could appear to be PI pressing sanctions, not the IPO. Besides, Collosea believes the DSA has the capability to produce it's own weapons making sanctions pointless. Collosea votes against.

To Loyan: In the other discussion where you declared the DSA a rogue state, you said to remove all diplomatic ties with DSA. Removing those ties would prevent goods from entering DSA, having the effects of a larger sanction. Could you please clarify your position on applying sanctions on DSA?

Firstly, if sanctions are to be imposed upon one nation at conflict, then by this precedent the Illuminate would ask for sanctions to be imposed upon Inglo-Scotia, Dysanii, the Canadian Imperium, and Confederated States of Sovereign Dixie. War is war.

Secondly, the Illuminate refuses to comply with the Loyanese delegates request to withdraw diplomatic ties. Diplomacy is the solution to war, not sanctions.

Edit: However, as this act is not passing the Illuminate will not press for sanctions against any nation.

Agreed with Xyrael.  If this act passes, should we not pass similar acts for all involved nations?  If we are indeed the IPO and not the puppets of the PI, we must not play favorites with anyone.

The Free Land of Capconia is against sanctions.  With the DSA already in a volatile situation as it is, imposing sanctions on them may only 'add fuel to the fire.'  That does not mean, however, that we should ignore it.  Rather, we should keep an eye on them and consider what to do based on whether things change or not.

we must punish the aggressor, if you want to punish the defender, sure go ahead. Sanctions against the aggressor (Dysanii) were already addressed by many of the current members, although New Delfos haven't yet made up it's mind. We see no excuse for sanctioning a PI member...yet.
