The Zjhadi Empire
« on: May 13, 2007, 05:01:23 PM »
Name: Zjhadi (tsja:h-di or tsi-ja:h-di)
Average Lifespan: ~70 years.
Size: From 155 cm to 170 cm
Technical style: Telepathic superiority and subjugation of other species.

Mechanical tech: 3
Organic tech: 1
Magical tech: 0
Psi tech: 26

Mechtech specialty: Advanced space-travel, shipyards and industry
Organitech specialty: Advanced agriculture
Magic specialty: None.
Psitech specialty: Irresistable mind control, nearly invincible mental defences.

Characteristics:

A feudal matriarchy, in which only females who form the warrior caste can join the military. Zjhadi mental powers are beyond compare; their males in the philosopher caste can detect everything taking place within their dominion, from the biggest fleet to the thoughts of the youngest child. The females themselves also have some telepathic powers, although nowhere near as strong as the men. However, every ship that is at least a cruiser in size has enough powerful telepaths who can, given enough time, mind-control an entire planet, eliminating the need for ground troops.  The ship leaders can also see slightly into the future, giving noticeable attack and defense advantages. They can even take mental control of a captured ship and use it in the same battle against its former fleet.

Their greatest weakness is their weak government, in which the local rulers have considerable influence over their planets.  The rulers' personal forces make ship construction quick, but technological advancement is usually only about half of what might be expected.  Science is not a high priority to the planetary rulers, so this inefficiency is a definite problem for the Zjhadi empresses.  Usually, the Zjhadi are aggressive militarily and will only aid the races to which they are already favorably disposed from prior contacts. Through their ruthlessness, the Zjhadi were able to lure nearby travelling ships to their system where they could dismantle the ships and discover how to travel in FTL speeds.

To the Taijituan observer, the Zjhadi would seem much akin to their species, standing slightly shorter and leaner than them. However, the characteristic that most use to recognise the Zjhadi is their deep blue skin.

Strengths: Experienced in war due to their constant internal struggle for power and probably the most advanced telepaths in the galaxy.

Weaknesses: Caught in a feudal system, which diminishes their research capabilities and forces them to compensate their lack of technology with their other skills.

Sigma Draconis

Sigma Draconis Prime

Also known as Mazani, this tiny planet is the main source of metals and other resources for the Zjhadi. Barren and lifeless, the planet has no real atmosphere worth mentioning and thus no water. In modern times, it is riddled with mining tunnels and facilities that work around the clock to provide resources for the Empire's needs.

Sigma Draconis II

The homeworld of the Zjhadi is better known to them as Vaneva or "birth-egg." Categorised as a small, almost three billion Zjhadi live on its surface, most of which is in one natural state or another to provide food for the growth of the Empire or to serve as battlefields between the feudal lords.

Sigma Draconis III

Sysil is a large gas giant and the main source of gases and fuel for the Empire's FTL fusion drives.

Sigma Draconis IV

A frozen world, Amodea is the source of the rare substance known as Amoya that allows the construction of the highest-grade technologies, such as fuel cells for FTL travel and.
