The History of Taijitu

Early Days

First there was The North Pacific. Then some people got upset, broke off and formed the Lexicon. Then some people got upset, and broke off of them. These people would eventually form the great nation of Taijitu.

The forum was officially created on January 3, 2007. That day, a charter was signed by the founders, binding them to the region. This set the ground work for the creation of the constitution. Pragima took the up the task, and with the help of a few others, the Constitution of Taijitu was created on January 7, 2007. The tiles for the government of Taijitu was set in place. By the end of the month final versions for the laws and procedures were written and moved to the Senate Floor.

Taijitu - The Largest Non-Feeder Region in Nationstates

Taijitu had already been growing at an alarming rate. By January 6, the third day there were already 100 nations present in the region, five embassies and an average of a thousand posts per day. But what really made the region stand out, was its odd attraction to new nations. Thanks to the recruiting squad, by January 11, Taijitu had 200. January 15, 300. January 21, 400. Before the end of January, Taijitu had 600 resident nations, all in less then a month.

The pace slowed down from there, with 900 nations my mid-March, yet Taijitu still broke through the thousand nation mark on April 5, 2007. And she was still growing. By May it had peaked at 1300, becoming the largest non-feeder region in Nationstates. Over the summer however, the number fell to about 1000 in August, but thanks to a new vigor in the the recruiting team, Taijitu regained their highest title.

The Rejected Realms Affair

On July 21, 2007, the Delegate of Taijitu, Red Karagan, or PoD Gunner, ejected 198 nations to the Rejected Realms, without any knowledge that this had happened. These nations had all endorsed him, so when he himself moved to The Rejected Realms, he would pick them up, and with the help of DEN, take over the delegacy. The plan was to hold the delegacy for about a day, and then come back home, and everyone would be happy. After all, Red Karagan did it to create excitement within the game, and to have a little fun.

Well, there was a lot of excitement. A huge public outcry from the citizens of Taijitu stormed up, who felt that they had been uprightly treated, and their rights violated. Many regions closed their embassies, and there was an overall sense of detest among the members of other regions. In the Senate, an amendment to Article VI: The Rights of Citizens, prevented forced moving of UN Nations. A bill proposing to impeach Red Karagan was also put before the Senate, but it failed to pass as elections were very near. There were also two civil lawsuits against Red Karagan, but there was no hard evidence, and the suits died.

So election season, already in the works, rolled around and the region needed someone who could repair the damage that the TRR Affair caused. Ultimately, Sovereign Dixie won. He appointed The Crazy Monkeywoman as the General Advisor to the Executive, a brand new position newly created. SD believed that her council would help him rebuild the cracked reputation and internal damage caused by the TRR Affair.
