Regional Update Mach 2
« on: March 28, 2008, 11:54:26 PM »
Here's our latest:

March 24th, 2008
Our Forums
Nations: 118 (Previously 175)
Delegate (endos): Starman Deluxe (23)
Regional Power: Very High

===

===

The region has actually picked up in regional population from the 100 teens to the twenties.

===

The regional population may have picked up, but the forums are not getting any new members, and the forums pretty much appear to be a dead zone.

Roleplay

Recently, there has been a lack of activity in the roleplay boards, but there has been an ongoing thread in the Artificial Reality section:

The Brigands War
Futuristic Clamparapa and Canton Rouge have been caught up in a war against rebels. They have suceeded so far in evacuating villages but what will happen when a terrible weapon is discovered?

===

Regional elections have taken place with:
Quote
Chancellor: South Malaysia
UN Delegate: Starman Deluxe
Minister of Immigration: Kameleon
Minister of Roleplaying: Robengrad
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Durandal
Minister of Internal Affairs: Durandal
Minister of Civilisation: Canton Rouge
Chancellor of Justice: Porcu
Judges: Robengrad (Acting, Open Position), StargateSG1

It is a hope of many members that the new Regional Cabinet will determine if Hyrule can pull through this "depression," of sorts.

South Malaysia has moved forward in the Hyrule for Tomorrow campaign but interest in it, is extremely low from member activity and voting.

UN Voting
Delegate Starman Deluxe has started out his reign so far activly and for the first time in a few months we actually had UN voting.

Resolutions

Most Recent on Bottom:
UN Voting, Repeal Fair Trial: 4 FOR, 0 AGAINST, 0 ABSTAIN: Hyrule Voted For
UN Voting, Repeal Metric System: 2 FOR, 0 AGAINST, 0 ABSTAIN: Hyrule Voted For
UN Voting, UN Access to Literacy System: 1 FOR, 2 AGAINST, 0 ABSTAIN: Hyrule Voted Against

Roleplaying Guidelines Act

Hyrule has recently started an Ammendment which will clarify the guidelines for the Roleplaying section of the forums. It will hopefully be finished soon.

The Job Directory

The Directory is a first-time thing for Hyrule. It lists all the jobs Hyrule has to offer, informing new members of what they can do to make their experiances more engaging and exciting in Hyrule. All they need to do is send an application to the corresponding minister and they will recieve a response as to whether they were accepted or not.

You know what I can't stand? People who try to force you to do something good. They will make you feel sorry for whatever their cause is and try to get you to do it. Even more annoying is when they pull on strings that are not meant to be pulled. Just the other day, some guy walked up to me and asked me to give blood. He said, "You can save a bunch of lives if you give blood." I told him I would ask my parents. "But it's your blood," he said. I said that I would rather have my parents make the final decision since I'm not all that comfortable around needles. Now, I'm a Christian and I believe in God and Jesus. If you got a problem with that, then don't read my rants. Anyways, he pulled out the ol' "What would Jesus do?". He was playing on my beliefs so that I would give blood. So I finally signed the darn thing. I really wanted to smack him, but he was right. Anyways, when someone tries to force you to do something good and emotionalizes you, then there's a problem. My definition of "emotionalizing" is making someone feel bad so that they will do whatever you want them to do. This includes doing good things. I'm all for giving to the poor and giving blood, but when someone goes, "Do it because Jesus would" or "If you don't, little children will be killed and girls will be raped", it ticks me off. I mean, I know that will happen, but if they try to emotionalize you, you feel bad. Then the only reason you do what you do is to make yourself feel better, which is bad. If you want to do something good, do it out of the goodness of your heart, not because it makes you feel better and lifts something off your chest. They should inform you of the effort to help people and not try to make you feel bad to get you to do something good. I will probably give blood, but if the guy had been a little less persistant, and let me ask my parents, I would have been a lot more willing to do it.
