The ships moved slowly towards the coast of the Canada-Quebecois Empire's newest colony. The Colony of Alaska. The clean blue waters made the land more beautiful. Kole Driver was on the deck watching the land get closer. He was a young sixteen year-old boy moving to the colony with his father, Ben Driver. "Dad, is it true the Democratic States are just south of our new colony?" His dad nodded. "Yes, that's why the military is here as well. Just in case the DSA gets frisky." His son replied. "Not like they could beat us." His father nodded again. Reports from the Empire had reached the fleet. San Fransisco and all of southern California had fallen to the Canadian army. Ben looked at his son. He knew the boy was excited to join the service. Heck, he did when he was eighteen. But three years mandatory service wasn't a walk in the park. The captain came on the speaker. "Ladies and gentlemen, we will be nearing the area that we will build our capital of this colony, Juneau. Be prepared with your belongings and get into the boats as they take you to shore. Ben grabbed his belongings and his son's as well. He looked over at his son who was staring at one of the montrous battleships that the fleet had brought with it. Frigates, destroyers, and battlecruisers were among the fleet as well. Soldiers were landing on the beach and preparing camp. After the construction of York, then the Colony of Alaska would be in creation. They would need a governor, a legistation and a colonial army. But first Juneau needed to be built. They got into their boat and were rowed to the shore. The warships made a perimeter around the colony and the unarmed passenger ships. Jets from the Nimitz carriers that had come flew overhead. Ben looked up. [/i]Just in case.[/i]
