Katya responded quickly, "This is precisely the sort of arrangement we were hoping for. it should be quite nice for our nations to be on such good terms."

"Excellent, so you'll accept the copper and silicon, what of the natural gas? It's not our policy to tax government-to-government trades, so I can send the shipment to you immediately." He paused for a moment, knowing the obvious. "I have but two more questions for you. One, it's my Kings goal to further peace in the east through mutual trust. Would you care to pledge to a Non-Aggression Pact with the Imperial Republic? And two, what are each of your future policies in regards to the Imperial Republic, the East, and the world in general?"

Kristen responded this time, "We will deny the natural gas as we are fueled quite well. however we all seek peace and....close relationships in the East. We are all interested in non-aggression and indead heavy peacefulness with your people. we of the liberal party especialy wish for mostly open borders between our nations. our position in the world shall be one of peacekeeping and improvements in the living conditions of unfortunate nations."

Jonas then spoke up while chainsmoking, "Where as the moderate party dousn't support such open borders we would love open diologues between our govornments and we would like the east to be united in the world front. we are already planning to propose an official alliance of the eastern nations, once we win the elections."

Katya then replied, "we of the liberty party wish to increase trade relationships world-wide yet we shall keep our attentions domesticly, avoiding the worlds problems to promote the freedoms of our people."

the table was enveloped in clouds of smoke and estrogen. Kristen offered Ohtli a Beignete casualy while the other two smoked and drank their coffee.

Ohtli grinned at Kristen, accepting the donut-like pastry. "I'm afraid truly open borders are rather out of the question, the Imperial Republic has closed it's market to foreign investment, and we don't need a gross over-sized black market. But certainly border laws could be less strict."

Ohtli looked to Jonas with a smile. "Any proposals for an Eastern Alliance would be quite wonderful, but let me be frank with you."

He paused for a moment, idly nibbling at the beignet. "My King truly wishes to prevent colonial powers from trampling these beautiful, vernal lands. So, curiosity begs me to ask your positions on the issue. Then, perhaps we can talk again once the elections are complete."

Jonas responded with passion, "Foreign empires have no buisness being in the beautiful eastern lands! we will squash any foreign power which wishes to lay its hands on our continent! damn their greed and damn their western ways!"

Kristen with powdered sugar on her hands stated, "we all feel as he does."

Katya said, "indeed!"

"Excellent, then I see now reason why we cannot finalize the trade deals and I can allow you three to finish your campaigns," Ohtli smiles. "It seems that no matter the outcome my King can expect a friend to the north. He will be most pleased."

Ohtli paused momentarily before consuming the beignet voraciously. He blushed slightly, smiling at Kristen. "Very good. Is it also possible for me to exchange embassies? I know my King would wish me to open one, and I don't see the need to waste fuel on multiple airplane trip. We could also finalize the trade agreement now." He briefly pondered about whether he would have company tonight should they accept, but he dismissed the idea with a small frown.

The Imperial Republic hereby authorizes the exchange of Xyraeli silicon and copper for Uichi Ryan fruits, sugar, coffee beans, and tea leaves. The Imperial Republic also expresses its desire to continue friendly relations with the Uichi Ryans, and will discuss possibilities for furthering Eastern solidarity.

Republican Emissary Ohtli Tayauh

Signed,

"If you three just sign this on behalf of your respective parties, I'll notify my King of our arrangements. I'll also personally arrange for tax-free boat passage through the Straight of Atl, both military and civilian," Ohtli smiled politely.

a very heavy signature read, JONAS ARIES

a smooth curling signature read, Kristen Dumaine

A small neat signature read, katya delecroix

Jonas then spoke up, "We can send a message to the Uichi Ryan Diplomatic Corps. they have recently opened up the embassy complex, would it be yourself who would be the delegate to our country?" he then lit another cigarette with the end of his last one.

Kristen spoke then, "That would be lovely, if you are the diplomat then we can continue talking and you already seem to enjoy some of our local food.... oh that would be lovely indeed."

Katya simply stated, "it looks like we all have gotten our desired outcome."

"I am fairly sure I will be the primary emissary to Uichi Ryu," Ohtli smiled politely. "That is, assuming you like me. Unless you file a complaint, I'll remain the permanent envoy with Uichi Ryu for some time to come. I will stop by the Embassy Complex and formally ask for a position. I'll arrange for an embassy and multiple treaties to be authorized by the King."

Ohtli was rather puzzled by Uichi Ryan custom, unsure of how much he should pay. After looking over the bill, he put down enough to cover the fee and a very generous tip. Bowing politely, Ohtli asked one more question, "Perhaps one of you could show me to the embassy complex, and I will allow you to get on with your campaigns. Good luck to each of you."

Kristen said, "I'll show you the way." with a grin she led him off to her car and to the embassy complex. once they arrived, an embassy was granted with more than human speed.

clip from a Zine in Carcossa

Currently with a vast majority in the polls is the Moderate Party. Their head honcho Jonas had this to say, "We are just trying to do our best by the Uichi Ryan People."

THE PULSE OF UICHI RYU

MODERATE PARTIES OWN JONAS ARIES A MURDERER!
ex-headman for the moderate party Jonas Aries came home from work to find his long time lover in bed with a foriegner. private investigators and govornment officials say he then lost his mind. he first beat the foriegner to death while his lover tried to stop him. it is also believed that after he killed the foriegner they went into the kitchen to talk things over and it all went ugly once again. in the kitchen Jonas pulled out a titanium cleaver and hacked his lover to pieces. it was at this point that new Moderate Party leader Francis Black walked in, he saw the scene and incapacitated Jonas with his now appearent mastery of the Gun Kata. Francis turned Jonas over to the National Combat Armed Forces unit stationed outside the Embassy Complex. Jonas is now awaiting  CSI confirmation of the murders and then he will be seeing the unfriendly side of a soldiers rifle. The Moderate Party surprisingly rose in the polls following this incident. in this reporters opinion, it would be a travesty to elect anyone from such a violent party.
