uichi ryan govornment
« on: February 23, 2007, 01:01:57 AM »
the dust had settled the damage had been fixed, uichi ryu was finally coming back to its old glory. after the civil war had ended the people took the country back and made it beautiful once more. it was roughly two weeks after carcossa had been rebuilt that talk had started on when the elections should take place. the council of rebirth had decided it was time for members of their fine nation to start applying and campaigning for the seven seats of the uichi ryan parliament. the first ones to start campaigning were the old revolutionaries who had fought for this right. among thier number were ex-kallisti, ex-fugazi, ex-DOL and ex-greens. they were all out to win the peoples minds and hearts.

in an old fugazi  hideaway  in downtown carcossa.

"are you prepared to be a tool for the people?" asked a rather cynical woman.

"i live to serve the people and their best interest." responded the voice of an angel, every word like a piece of something otherworldly.

"are you ready to do what ever it takes to make sure your people stay healthy and happy?" came the raspy voice of one of the rare old ones.

"i am willing to lay my life and sanity on the line for the uichi ryan people." stated that musical voice.

(ooc: this is the thread for campaigning in the coming uichi ryan elections anyone is welcome to join but obvious interference from outsiders is hated.)

Alvar Hanso stroked his chin. He spun his chair around and held a button on the phone on his desk.

"Paging Dr. Arnold Oswiecim to CEO Hanso's office immediately."

A few minutes later Oswiecim opened the door.

"You paged me, sir?"

"Yes, look at this." Hanso picked up a remote from his desk and pointed it at the flatscreen TV on the other side of the room. It turned on to the 5:00 news.

"And the Uichi Ryans began their elections today after years of civil war...Alvar Hanso has released no information on how this will affect his House's political clout over the country..."

"At least...not to them." Hanso said, turning off the television.

"Get ahold of that lady that runs the Daughters of Liberty - tell her to run for elections. And also say that I'll take it from there..."
"I assure you -- I will be quite content to be a mere mortal again, dedicated to my own amusements."

Feng read the report and grimaced.  The Socialists, it seemed, were far better at mobilising people for revolution than for their votes; they were third out of four parties in the nation.  And everyone knew the Uichi Ryan love for non-interference.  It was widely believed that the Daughters of Liberty hadn't succeeded because they were too closely tied to a foreign power.  Now this was frustrating...what to do...

This wasn't like Eire, where he could just send money and be done with it.  And besides, he was needed where he was.  A pity Viktor can't be everywhere...

The Xyraeli government would wish to send a representative to Uichi Ryu to discuss proposals to increase regional solidarity and trade. It is our fervent hope that our northern neighbors can continue to remain good friends and future allies.

Sincerely,
King Xipil

It would be delightful to have our neighbors come for a visit. we appreciate the efforts and once we have a solid govornment, we shall hopefully open borders and have everlasting peace.

sincerely,
kallisti.

A Boeing C-32 entered Uichi Ryan airspace along with two Saab Gripen escorts. Shortly after it touched down at a primary international airport, the two jets circled the airspace while the diplomat exited.

Political Commissar Ohtli was well dressed in a sharp business suit, and he was greeted by several Uichi Ryans.

"Hello friends. I've come to discuss some proposals between our nations as outlined by my leader, King Xipil. I've come to see each parties positions on relations with the Imperial Republic, and possibly make agreements with the nation of Uichi Ryu."

OOC: I'd like to stir the pot a bit, see who's gonna be what, whether or not me and my northern neighbor will be on the same terms. I also would like to discuss trade terms, and possibly some other ideas.

the uichi ryans were very happy to have the xyraeli diplomat.

a young woman with pink hair inquired, "so shall we all go for a drink, it is the best way for such discussions, perhaps a nice round of sake?"
a slightly older female with leopard spotted skin replied, "no such things get to heated with liquor, we should discuss this at the cafe Du monde, we can then be more aware and precise in our discussion."
a middle aged man sporting a neon green tri-hawk responded, "my sisters perhaps the xyraeli diplomat should decide. oh diplomat what is your name anyhow?"
all of the uichi ryans turned to him with curiosity.

The diplomat shifted in his suit, uncomfortable around such attractive diplomats. He was quite used to the company of male diplomats, but he was rather pleased to have this opportunity to be with such attractive women. And discussing the very things he loved! What a day.

"My name is Ohtli," he bowed slightly, pondering for a moment. "Cafe Du Monde would be most excellent," he smiled. He never handled alcohol well, he didn't want to make a bad impression, especially not in front of the two women. He raised an eyebrow as he truly noticed the spectacle that was the hair of the man. "May I ask your names?"

the man with the bright green tri-hawk bowed flamboyantly and said, "My name is Jonas Aries, diplomat from the Moderate Party. Pleased to meet you."

the young female with pink hair looped her arm around that of Ohtli and stated, "My name is Kristen Dumaine and i am the ambassador for the Liberal Party."

the leopard spotted older female replied in a dry manner, "I am known as Katya DeLecroix, I represent the Liberty Party."

they all gathered around the ambassador and went to the waiting hummer and told the driver their destination. they chatted about many unimportant topics the entire way. all the while Kristen was flirting with Ohtli, while Jonas was distracting with talks of philosophy and asking about Xyrael. Katya was the most silent as she seemed only interested in direct talks of alliances and trade. it was roughly a half hour drive which had brought them into the heart of Carcossa...

Ohtli was quite impressed with the city, but he had to admit that he was rather distracted by the Liberal Parties representative. He couldn't be picking favorites already, although from what he'd learned before his arrival he agreed with her the most. That is when her eyes weren't drawing him off his thought process. He struggled not to blush, maybe I should've picked the alcohol.

"I haven't been to a Cafe in quite a while. Far too much work. Perhaps we can discuss more inside?" he spoke softly, trying not to sound as though he were distracted.

Jonas made some peculiar hand signals at Kristen then at Katya. Jonas then took the lead being first out the door. the two women looked subdued but headed out directly behind. despite their appearances they were all dressed in elegant leather clothing. they looked the aristocratic part as they entered Cafe Dumonde. taking a seat on the third floor balcony they ordered beignetes and chickory coffee.

Jonas started, "we would like to start by informing you that no matter who wins the elections, we shall remain a democraticly elected prliamentary govornment. this means that every few years the people will have a choice in who shall rule them. our constitution gives the people the infallible ability to impeach anyone in the govornment at anytime." he sipped at his coffee and lit up a red cigarrette, offering one to Ohtli.

Kristen then began, "we wish to know what it is that you wish to know, you know?" nibbling on a messy beignete.

then Katya, "so what does your king want to know?" gulping the coffee.

Ohtli smiled politely, not sure whether or not to refuse the cigarette. He decided against it, based on the fact he didn't wish to choke on the smoke in front of the two ladies.

"Well, getting to the point, my government has recently closed Xyrael's market from foreign investment. But, as with every state, we don't have everything, and we have a surplus in many sectors. We'd be able to offer you the industrial supplies to help expand your ecomony, but right now my people are lacking luxuries, and they grow bored of eating the same foods."

Ohtli paused for a moment in thought, "I know your election process has not run its full course, but I would ask what each of your aims are in relation to our closed economy, and what goals each of you would have to gain by trading with us."

Again Jonas was the first to respond, "We all share the smae goals here for our economic growth. Our ways may differ slightly but it has been decided that we shall pursue any economic gain possible, not to mention it is good to be on fair terms with ones neighbors."
the two women merely nodded. it was becoming obvious that Jonas was the ring-leader here and the other two mere pawns, useful as they may be.
stroking Ohtli's chest Kristen said seductively, "Both sides have much to gain..."

Ohtli grinned, struggling to keep his profession demeanor and not say what he was thinking. Is she for sale? he thought. He regained his composure, looking at Jonas with a smile.

"Well, I do note that you're getting many goods from Bustos, which I have no objection to. How you run your nation is your business. My reports said that you were lacking copper and silicon, however, both being crucial for electronics. We also have large quantities of natural gas, should you be interested. Although you do have adequate supplies of uranium and lead, and oil as well, so beyond the barbeque grill I'm not sure you feel you have the need to use gas." He paused, trying to remember if that was everything. "While it's in our governments interest to build the economy, people tend to grow bored eating rice and fish, with the occasional caviar. You have fruits, coffee beans, tea leaves, and sugar, all of which could add some much needed sweetness to our lives," he said as his eyes wandered to Kristen.

"If we were to trade, it would be purely products traded. Xyraeli companies would produce products which the Xyraeli government would purchase and trade to you."
