...5, 4, 3, 2, 1...launch!

Bohemia Five makes it's way up into the atmosphere, trailing behind it a tail of white smoke. Operation center monitors the three stage rocket as it breaks the atmosphere and into the vacuum of space. There was a blank applause in the Operation room, but it died quickly. Bohemia 5 was just one of twenty space rockets that was and will be launched, and it was getting bland at seven in just two weeks. Not that launching Tajitu's first international GPS system was boring....

Clean up was underway at the Star Gate Space Terminal, Loyan's prime site for space launches for the last twenty-two years. The launching pad was washed up with high pressure hoses, burnt marks removed from the launch structure with chemical spray, and the entire area doused down with fire retardant lest any unburnt fuel was leaked. Back in Operation Center, Loyanese, Bohemian, and Loyanese technicians monitored Bohemia 5's progress through space. The payload had a long way to go before reaching geosynchronous orbit around the planet.

Shan Sonjian took the chance to get a cold drink from the cooler. For the last ten and half hours, he had been proofreading the command programs for Bohemia 5's satellite, checking through three thousand lines of code for error. His body was starting to shut down on him as the coca gum he took wore off. It gulped down the paper cup and took out a stick of coca gum. A Terran colleague came over to join him.

ooc: GPS satellites don't have imaging, plus Loyan already launched satellites with imaging in close orbit way before this. You can't just claim monopoly over space.

ooc: I`m your ALLY...if you can`t trust me after I overhauled my socialist country... . Also, there are dozens of commercial satellites from other nations that can see the area you wish to deny, its silly to go on your way attempting to stop them. So please delete your post...

The cloud cover theory is a bit sensitive, if there is indeed a blanket of clouds cover the dark areas, we can assume that the surface areas are mostly barren of life from lack of sunlight. We can also assume by that, there are no humans living in the dead zone, unless we happen to stumble upon underground mole people living off of geothermal energy and deep earth bacterial sludge.

OOC: Is Myroria trying to block Feniexian exploration of the Auregai Meridian and the area beyond too? Asfar I know we have our partner programs in space exploring, but it seems you are very...secretly about this...

Mextla pulled up a chair besides Sonjian.
„Maybe you should get some rest. I could finish this for you.“
He sat down and started to shift trough the papers.
„Say do you ever wonder why we have a one second signal brak in telemetry after each launch?
I wonder if it is this damn weather pattern.“
he looked at the Loyan scientist.
„Got any of that gum left?“ he asked with a grin.

"Coca gum? Alright, but don't blame me if you get addicted..."

Shan took a stick and gave it to Mextla. "Chew it slowly at first, and don't get freak by the buzz you'll get in your teeth."

Shan took back the papers from Mextla. "You do your job and I'll do mine partner. As for the break in signal, that Bohemian hottie said it had something to do with the ionosphere ~thing... I don't know, I'm a programmer not a engineer. So hows it coming with your section? Supro said you ran into some problems earlier?"

"Nothing serious. There is a glitch in the engines telemetry but I think the sensor feed is on the frizz. The sensor sends it's data to the telemetry sender. it goes to the control computer on a separate line so there should be no problem. Besides is only a drop in signal strength every few seconds. Maybe the vibration from lift off caused a loose connection."
"Thanks for the gum. And don't worry. Back home we chew the leafs." he said returning to his post.

"Huh, never knew that. I should come over to Terra in the summer. Let's get back to work, Supro is probably looking for me right now, that suit..."

As the afternoon passed and night came, technicians began preparing the launch platform for Terra One, the next TPS satellite launch. The launch site's floodlights were switch on, bathing the surrounding with a near-sunlight. It was like night never came.

Shan cleaned up his desk and proceeded out to get lunch in town. A on duty Watch guard at the exit asked him for identification, letting me through once his ID card was scanned and check for forgery. The guard call over to him, "Sorry about that Shan, standard procedure. Can't let any clones or shapeshifters in or out." They both chuckled.

Once out in the parking lot, he look around for Mextla.

The Terrangan system engineer walked over to the scooter.
"Evening Shan. Sorry I am late but I had to talk to the techs about that sensor. Told them to keep an eye on the connectors."
"So what's up tonight? I have some time off. But they expect me in early tomorrow. I am a bit nervous. It's our satellite they are going to shoot up next and folks at home will probably be glued to their TV's."

He clicked his tongue. "Great, Loyan food. Let's go. First beer's on me."

"Very kind of you!" Shan chuckled.

The scooter motored down the long stretch of road leading to town. White blue light illuminated the road in a mystical glow of blue. In the quiet and emptiness of the night, it all seem magical.

"Best part of my job here, is the way back home. Just look at that, feels your in a fantasy world...So, what you want to eat? Ten course meal at East Sensation or do we hit the chow club?"
