The United Imperium
« on: January 06, 2007, 08:24:03 PM »
OOC: This is my new thread. Now Myroria has always been on Taijitu, and "The Crash" never happened. I'm rebooting my RP from where Peté just married Fredrika.

IC: Peté Tar-Ilium, a recently married baron from Eluvatar, had been thrown into complete power over the Kingdom of Myroria. Now he was King Peté Tar-Ilium I, absolute monarch over the Kingdom. Ever since Peté was just a little child, he dreamt of ruling his own country. Detractors called him power-hungry. His friends called him a natural born leader. Now, he had finally achieved his lifelong dream: He was living the high life in Myroria as its king. But the tulip-sided roads and grand palaces of pious Myroria could only occupy him for so long...

Ignore the swastikas. We're not Nazis.

Peté's New Model Army goosestepped down Pelagis Road, the main street of Nova Pelagis, the capital. It was January the Sixth, and Independence Day in Myroria. By now, the fledgling King had finally become completely used to the architecture of Myroria, and was no longer satisfied with a single simple country. He wanted more. He wanted Myroria to become the largest empire in the world. He wanted to make his new dream - what Peté called the United Imperium. And now he had set his sights on his home. Eluvatar.

While in Eluvatar today marked the reelection of Beregond ArFinn as Presiding Steward by the Hall of the Non (the lower, popular hall of the Halls of the Stewards).

Solemnly addressing the Halls of the Stewards in joint session assembled, he swore to the oath:

Quote from: Oath of the Presiding Steward
I, Beregond ArFinn, duly proclaimed presiding Steward by the Hall of the Non, do pledge to govern justly and wisely to keep the Royal Confederacy ready for the return of the King. By the power granted to me in the absence of the King, I do invest myself with full authority over the Royal Government and the Nine Provinces. In the name of the King, soon may he return, I swear to protect the Royal Confederacy from enemies without and within, to promote the general welfare, and to safeguard the great compact of Ëldalondë.

A Myrorian satellite afixed it's cameras on some land north of Durnia. It snapped some quick pictures and transmitted them to headquarters in Nova Pelagis before moving on to photograph "rogue nations" like Inglo-Scotia. The men examining the pictures returned from the satellite were genuinely surprised to see several stone structures carved into mountains. Transmitting them to the Imperial Aristocratic Exploration Order, the men continued examining pictures of Inglo-Scotia, but most were just masses of people huddled in front of a stage or something to that effect.

The next day...

The IAEO gathered a pilot, co-pilot, and explorers onto a small transport plane bound for the land identified by the Myrorian satellite. Co-ordinates of the photograph were given to the pilot, who would use them to drop in some explorers. On each explorer was a Luger and steel cuirass, in case natives with spears were around the area.

Flying low into a plain surrounded by forest, the transport plane quickly dropped it's explorers down on a rope before closing it's cargo door and flying back over the forest, making a U-turn and going back to Myroria. One of the explorers looked at his pocket watch; 10:53 PM. He turned to the others.

"We'll set up camp here. You three - set up a triangle around the camp and be guards." He pointed to three of his fellow explorers.

The next day...

The explorers awoke at 8:00 AM. There had been no attack the previous night. The explorers set off into the forest surrounding the plain to look for settlements. It wasn't long before one stumbled upon several men dressed in iron armor in a clearing. They were holding swords and a bear was at one end of the camp. Nodding to his group, the head explorer cautiously stepped with his group out of the forest, with one hand on his gun, and with two explorers at the back holding their shotguns in a half ready position.

OOC: Er, they don't dress in Bearskin, unless they're Slayers. If you want to meet Slayers, I suggest you arm yourself with something more than a Luger. Normal Hibernian armor is something like this

Fixed. I wrote that it was armor now.

" Opphøre! Hva er det for noe lyd Thurador? " shouted the young Hibernian with the warhammer.
" Idioten. Ingen kanne tråkke i det Valdres uten å vite det det hemmelig. " replied the older, long-bearder one.
" Tampen brenner gamle , det er mest sannsynlig et eller annet her over. Jeg vil gå med det bamse og blikk. " the younger sneered.

The younger dwarf mounted his bear and rode to the general direction of the noises.

"That bear is coming this way..." whispered one shotgun trooper to the other. He raised his gun and prepared for a confrontation.

"Wait!" the head explorer whispered.

"We don't want to just go shooting random people! I'll try to communicate with them when they come. Both of you - hide, but be ready."

Thargan halted at the sight of the oddly dressed women. He raised his axe and bellowed " Stopp! " at the women, jumped off his bear and took position to fight.

OOC: All the explorers are men, as in Myroria women are expected to be barefoot and pregnant behind the stove.

OOC: I knew they were men. The Hibernians, however, beg to differ :)

Thargan goggled at the woman. She was much taller than he was, perhaps by a few inches. This amazed the Hibernian into backing off his aggressive stance. He somehow got the meaning of the words the woman spoke, she seemed to wish him no harm. He sheathed his axe.

The head explorer (I'll call him the Conquesteur now) nodded to his men.

"We landed here. We represent the Kingdom of Myroria, a large nation far south of here. Where, may I ask, have we landed?"

" Noen snakke det fredløs omgangsspråk her over? " Thargan asked
" Ja, Jeg snakke lite. Jeg vil snakke med seg. " answered a middle-aged looking Hibernian wielding a shortsword

The middle-aged one walked toward the foreigners.

" I talk bit of your speak. Present, answer me why you is at Hibernia? "

The Conquesteur nodded.

"A satellite - metal thing about yea high and this big around - took pictures from outer space around our planet of your fair nation. We were dispatched from the home country to explore this region. Do you have a leader I can speak with?"
